Yeah, that new Gowl stuff is badass, as well as all the Brazilian stuff you posted. Definitely cosigned! The Rot and Baixo Calao stuff that ARP has been putting out has had serious playtime at my house over the past few months, and I definitely need to track down some Test material because that stuff is awesome as well.

Also stepping outside of North America, I've been listening to a lot of P.T.A.O., a noisecore unit from Czech Republic. Absolutely crushing stuff.

Dude that PTAO is harsh! Quality noisecore, thanks for the heads up!

Totally forgot HUTT on that Brazilian grindcore list, yet another cool band ARP has released!

No problem man! Looking at their discogs page, it seems they do nothing but CD-r releases, but it seems a majority of their recorded output is on YouTube.

I have a Hutt tape, maybe a split, that I got from ARP but I don't think I've listened to it yet!

Damn, this is pretty sick. Funnily enough, the vocalist sounds exactly like a friend of mine.

I know this has probably been asked for a million times throughout the history of this thread; but I am curious. Can someone throw me a couple of bands that are in the same vein as Repulsion and Terrorizer? I know everyone is going to mention Carcass worship bands, which is perfectly fine. I'm into Carcass; but Repulsion is my favorite of all the bands. So basically; I'm looking for death/grind I guess.

If you dig World Extermination you'd probably want to check out The Drip's new EP on Relapse Records, 'A Presentation of Gruesome Poetics'.

This ain't bad but it takes a severe turn for the worse @ 1:39. Vocals should have never come back in, ends up sounding like some brocore beatdown stuff which is a no no for me. Hopefully they stay away from that on the rest of the EP.

Haha I like the brocore part being a Hardcore fan myself but they shouldn't have gone out repeating the title like that.

Here is a pretty cool Death/grind band. Album came out in 2002 (I think it's their only one) but it's got a nice old school style and production to it.

May I ask what the hell sort of vocal technique he's doing in the chorus? Wheezing!? lol

Trepan Dead - Instinct was the best Grindcore record I could find going through the Full Album releases on MA from 2012 and 2013.

My greatest annoyance so far is that MA doesn't include tons of Grindcore bands like Magrudergrind probably because they're too much on the Powerviolence side and not considered Metal or something, no idea really, I'm not a genre specialist.

Is there another good website where I would be able to really browse ALL the grindcore releases by year? I really feel like I'm missing out this way on MA!

Nope, not that I know of anyway. Basically MA won't have anything that doesn't have a noticeable metal influence. You're gonna miss out on stuff just looking for full lengths anyway, tons of rad shit on smaller formats.

Yeah but EP's, splits and demo's take too much time and isn't that worthwile. Got so many other genres I'm into so doing just the Full Lengths takes enough of my time! I'm writing down the years I had nowadays so I don't end up doing stuff twice like now... I wish lastfm had an advanced search where you can search for bands tagged with both "Powerviolence" AND "Grindcore". I'm doing Discogs now Grindcore+year + LP or CD, that should do the trick! Lot of double work though when you also check MA...

Hopefully that opinion rectifies itself because there are FAR more good smaller-format grindcore releases than full-length ones.

The IW/Carcass Grinder split is probably the single greatest testament to the validity of small format releases in the past decade. Carcass Grinder rules but the IW side is just untouchable.

First of all I never said small formats were necessarily bad at all just that going through full lengths is more worthwile timewise and that's true. And if a band remotely has something going on for them of course I check smaller formats anyways.

Second of all I love the Insect Warfare side! But then again the Carcass Grinder side isn't for me. I have to admit I usually ignore split records in Grindcore, I always just like one of the bands which like in this case gets you 4 min of Grindcore. Cool but not very worthwile!

This (although the CG side is pretty weak), the Hatred Surge split, the Suffering Mind/ Lycanthrophy split, and In Disgust's Reality Choke are the finest grind extended plays in recent memory

Suffering Mind / Lycanthrophy

Thanx I like the Lycanthrophy side. If you don't already have you need the Hatred Surge 2005 - 2007 Collection, it includes the tracks of this split and is nearly 30mins of their best grind!

Today, I feel like an idiot for ignoring Trap Them all this while. Such an amazing Grindcore act. All this while I thought they were a Deathcore band or something.

Hey! Not my fault the band's name sounded like a bad deathcore name. Should've something more grind-ish. Then again, im the same person who thought that Noothgrush was a Black Metal name the 1st time i saw it.

Best Insect Warfare recording. Probably one of the best guitar tones ever. Insanely crunchy.
