I have a suggestion for this archive, it would be nice to be able to browse albums of a specific genre sorted after which year they were released.

You can already do this in Advanced Search. Click Advanced Search, go to the Search Albums tab, put in a date range (you can just use years if you want) and put the genre in the genre field. You can also filter by release type. This will show the releases in ascending order by release date.

Edit: note that "genre" is searching band genre, since we don't have genre tags for specific albums.
