In this website's rules, Avenged Sevenfold is specifically banned as a metalcore band, which I find to be unfair. Although A7x had a distinct metalcore sound in their first two albums, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and Waking the Fallen, it has really dropped the metalcore sound almost completely altogether (save for a few occasional breakdowns) for a Hard Rock-leaning Heavy Metal sound in its successive records. If you think it sounds too Hard Rock to be on this website, I may not agreee with your decision, but I will not complain. However, Avenged Sevenfold has always released material consisting of heavy, metallic riffs and impressive guitar solos (check out "Welcome to the Family"), and its last album, Hail to the King, exhibits a style consisting of elements of Groove and Trad (Old-School) Heavy Metal.
I also understand that some people are reluctant to allow Avenged Sevenfold on this website because many of its fans are perceived to be "emo" or "scene." However, to stereotype all of Avenged Sevenfold's fans this way is pitifully illogical. Even so, the demographics of a band's fanbase should not be used to color one's judgement of a band itself. If all the scene kids liked Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, should we ban those bands? (Disclaimer: I do not hate emos or scene kids.)
I am not asking anyone to like Avenged Sevenfold. If you do not, I respect your opinion, but that is not an appropriate reason to not allow them on this website. Whether or not you like it, save that for the reviews of their releases. I am only asking for you to reconsider the ban.
