Nice, I'm seeing them this summer at this fest (now the biggest one in Québec). My dad lives nearby, like a 5 minutes walk from the place and he rents his ground for campers. He made like $1500 last year so he paid my ticket this year. Sure there's plenty of crap bands but there's some I want to see and I could just go back at my dad's during the shitty stuff.

I really like the 2 latest AiC, it's as strong as their best albums in my opinion. Perhaps one of the only bands (alongside Rush) who's releasing very strong material after their peak.

Hahaha, Cypress hill vs Earth Crisis. That should go down well.

I woulda figured Senmuth had a label working full time just for him.

Fun fact: if I listened through all his full-lengths once he'd be either 3rd or 4th on my lastfm (up from 0 listens).

What Quorthon clearly never mentioned in that song was whether or not the Woodwoman had a skullet. Almost as if he was avoiding it.

Wow, good memory and we're not even FB friends! Thanks!

The only productive thing I did today is catch both Moltres and Articuno on Pokemon FireRed. Let's see if I'll catch Zapdos too! I don't have any special plans for today sadly, 24 years is nothing special!

Wait a minute, is that the project you started as a parody of meaningless, lazy, instant-music-just-add-feedback noise acts?

This either means that batman is somehow good at accidentally creating good art (at least when it's harsh noise) OR harsh noise is such a poor form of expression that even fans can't distinguish between sincere quality and a joke.

That's some scar shit right there. I had like $3,000 stolen from me a couple years back in almost the same fashion. The fucker had put a card reader into a gas pump at the station near my work, I've been so paranoid that I never went back there for gas again.

To speak of sketchy stealing: My girlfriend writes articles for a blog-like website, owned by a wealthy web developer who owns a few other sites. A few weeks ago, someone hacked into his account, stole $15,000 and was holding all his data "hostage." Apparently some high-profile hacker had bugged this developer's phone and used it to steal all his information. Developer guy gets involved with the FBI Cyberterrorism unit and they finally track the hacker down...turns out this guy was wanted for a bunch of other crimes and is now facing 30 years in jail, and the dev got all his money and sites back. Crazy shit.

This has probably been posted already but I haven't been paying much attention lately. Anyway, Primordial finally recorded the Irish rebel song they've used as an intro track to their live concerts for years now. It's part of the compilation that your man from Drudkh's putting together. Anyway, Primordial's song is amazing and here it is: http://www.metalhammer.co.uk/news/exclu ... em-before/

Black Sabbath's "paranoid" covered by the German Schlager/Pop Singers "Cindy & Bert" with german lyrics about "the hound of the baskervilles" which are almost more metal than the original version.

"Fog hovers darkly above the baskervilles moore..."

It's bizarre.

The whole "Vladimir Stalin-and-Hitler-reincarnate-in-one-person Putin and his baby-eating sympathizers raping all those innocent Maidans to death" thing may be the primary focus of media coverage at the moment, but such horrors are by no means the only thing currently noteworthy about Ukraine. There's also Chernobyl. Particularly the scientific study of the long term effects of radioactive fallout on the ecosystem. What they discovered now is that the radiation has had significant effect on decomposing organisms such as fungi and microbes, meaning that in areas with strong radioactivity, dead plants are no longer decomposing properly.

Also speaking of sketchy, let me tell you about my night on Thursday. My friend had a pre-St. Paddy's day party in his apartment with a big tub of green jesus. This had an absurd amount of alcohol in it, in the end it ended up being about 25% per cup. Some people told me they think it was also spiked with MDMA. Anyway, the party was going alright, but suddenly I felt really bad. Nothing I've ever felt from alcohol before (and I'm very experienced at drinking too much). I started feeling really anxious, dizzy and was at the point of passing out. I went home because I had to go to bed. In hindsight I'm sure someone slipped something in my drink (probably meant for a girl).

I take a nap for a while and then go downstairs and my roommate comes home saying he got kicked out of the party because some Indian guy pissed in my friend's (I'm living with him next year, too) dryer and blamed it on him. A few minutes later my other roommate came in and said my friend was coming here to kick my roommate's ass. We lock all the doors. A few minutes after that my friend -who's drunk out of his mind and on MDMA - rolls up in a car with a crew of 3 huge powerlifters he's rounded up trying to break into our house and beat the shit out of my roommate. My roommate (not the one who's ass was going to get kicked) told him to fuck off because he's calling the cops (although he didn't actually). One of the powerlifters was like "shit let's go I don't want to get arrested" and they leave.

After that I go back to my friend's party to talk him out of trying to kick my roommate's ass again. He's not there but a lot of other people are and everyone's absolutely fucked off the green jesus. Thirty minutes later my friend comes in and he's so drunk he can barely form a sentence so I give up trying to talk to him about it again. We just decide to go get food instead (which was a fucking ordeal in itself, another one of my friend just stood in front of the cash for two minutes eating his sandwich completely oblivious to where he was). Thankfully the next day he realized it was the Indian guy and not my roommate (who is too mild-mannered to do something like that anyway). Hope he fucking apologizes for trying to beat him up.
