so this is the 1st album as a whole on YouTube - viewtopic.php?f=9&t=103528

Let me know what you think of the production, sound, and anything you feel like sharing as long as it is constructive criticism so that I take it into consideration while recording the 2nd album.

Thanks in advance and Cheers!

I usually find political lyrics to be stilted and artless, and the intro track here is a good example of that. Saying exactly what you mean is fine for clarity but I prefer lyrics to be more interesting than that, and when I hear something like that in an intro track especially it quickly sours me on a band as I expect the music to follow with that blunt approach. Nothing against your message, it could just be expressed in a more interesting way. I was satisfied with the overall production/sound but the songs didn't really do it for me, which is fine since this isn't exactly my bag of black metal. I'd probably prefer the guitars a bit higher in the mix too, since the drums are much more active they draw a lot of attention. However, this would preferably be rectified also through composition with more attention to balancing the complexity of the drums vs. the vocals and guitars/bass.

The artwork on that last one is pretty rough, which I know is a superficial thing to point out but things like that matter.

I really like the intro track - it did lead me to believe that this would be an album influenced a lot more by extreme aggressions (which it was to a point - the solos that I heard and the lyrical themes/titles), or something like that, but that doesn't matter, it was kind of cool that it took the turn that it did. My suggestions would be to make the drums less clicky. I thought it was a drum machine at first, but the MA page says otherwise. Also make the vocal mix a little bit less hissy (like the sound you get at 3:30 in the second track). Pretty cool stuff.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the lyrics and content.
The words and music are coming from members who live in an area that is full of deceit, war, political conspiracies, polished crimes, international abuse, and religious fever. That is why we were not interested in delivering our view in a more sophisticated approach or images or anecdotes or philosophy but the whole album was built to be simple from the riffs to the drums and lyrics as a straightforward in your face shout out saying ENOUGH!

The upcoming album will be bolder with less intensity but more power - Keep an Eye and always share your thoughts.

Cheers and have a great day \m/

Musically it's very good, but the production can be a bit fuzzy at times.

Thanks a lot for the comments Commandaunt, I agree about the drums, we were forced to use triggers on the bass drums and snare as we couldn't afford getting a great sound from an acoustic drums (hopefully, it will be solved on the second album).

Moreover, we will hopefully let someone professional in Mixing handle the mix as it was previously made by the guy who helped us record the album and it wasn't his thing.

I am glad you guys are highlighting the points we already highlighted ourselves.

The upcoming album should make a difference - I can't wait to get it done and out there. \m/

To me it just sounds too 'modern'. The production is great, the instrumental technique is great...but when I listen I don't think to myself "wow that sounds sick" or "holy shit that's crazy" I just think "yep, that's modern techish death metal" . If that's what you're into, you've pulled it off. The only thing is the distortion effect on the vocals is a bit much.

Thanks Baconboom, but what do you mean by fuzzy and can you specify those times to get what you mean?

it is true, the production is not my personal favorite but since we were using VSTs and triggers, everything sounded more modern than we'd like it to. although we are satisfied with the intensity and loundness. As mentioned earlier, I hope we will be able to lose the polished production and get a rawer but still clean production.

However, and I will write it in capital as I have to acknowledge the vocal powerhouse in my band - THOSE VOCALS ARE 100% WITHOUT EFFECTS EXCEPT FOR TWO LINES IN THE WHOLE ALBUM. Now, you surely have a bit of reverb here, maybe a delay on another line to create an effect but NO DISTORTION WHATSOEVER!

Wolflust is definitely one of the most versatile and aggressive vocalists I ever heard and I am not saying this because we are in the same band.

This is the demo version of one of our tracks recorded using a mic through a desktop soundtrack in 2008

Compare it with the album version below if you'd like
