Actually I saw it in the news I think 3 or 4 days ago but that was an update from today so I do not consider that slow. I thought it was just someone spreading rumors as did the news article I read.

And constantly implies more than a few times. I have probably been slow on 2 or 3 max over the past few months or so. I would not generalize that as "constantly."

What was that album that came out this year with some sort of guy/deity on the cover and he was made of fire? Not sure if I'm describing it right or not but it got a lot of press recently.

People on this forum get butthurt about some really silly stuff, I've found. Some dude posts a second thread about Christmas hauls and gets a couple shitty responses from two people who could have simply ignored it and let mods deal with it. Some of you guys desperately need some beer and pussy, or whatever else it is that keeps you level.

Eternium's Repelling a Solar Giant.

I didn't find it all that engaging, despite implementing quite a few elements which I usually enjoy, but I can understand why it got so much praise. If you're into stuff like Dissection and Emperor, then you'll probably like it.

Cool your jets, turbo. Yeah, they should have ignored the thread, but they didn't, and the forum mods will deal with it. Life goes on.

Yeah, you're definitely right. I'm surrounded by people shitting on other people constantly and it gets exhausting. It works me up in a major way but I guess that would turn me into the type of dude I was previously referring to.

I agree. Although I probably found it more engaging than you did. The recording quality was pretty muddy and the songs were a little awkwardly constructed (see Opeth) but it had its charms and shining moments. All in all, enjoyable but not to die for.

Precisely, although Opeth didn't really come to mind when listening to it.

I just feel like the songwriting wasn't mature enough considering how ambitious the whole thing was. That might be fixed for the next release though, who knows. I certainly hope so, because the project has a lot of potential as it is.

You rarely get a debut album in metal that's close to flawless, I gotta give them credit for getting it pretty close. Watching this band emerge reminds me of when I found The Foreshadowing before their debut came out. Or rather, they found me... (Myspace in the good ol days). Shit now they're already on album 3. Anyway, Eternium's songwriter is pretty young from what I understand, so I can excuse the cheesy talking parts.

Edit: By the way, I just read your sig and I about died laughing

So I spent Christmas with my gf's family. Fuck this shit. I ain't gonna sing and kiss and rock any more baby Jesus for the rest of my life. I mean, how many of them can you own? And what's with all the sizes???
Anyway... I'm going to Oaxaca to celebrate the New Year, and fuck I miss my grandmother. I really feel like I lost another thing that links me to Oaxaca after she died. I mean, only part of my family lives there, and now even my mom has come to the city. I'm starting to realize that I truly didn't like living there. Fuck this time of the year, I'm all confused  Still, it's warmer (10°C min, 30°C max) compared to Mexico city (8°C min - 18°C max) so I can actually go outside. It's not only the cold that prevents me from doing so here, it's the fucking pollution. It's been several days since we are high on pollution and no outdoor activities are recommended.
Anyway, now thay I've let all those feelings go, have a happy new year.

My brother discovered "black metal", but he thinks "hipster" is synonymous with "open minded" when used as a prefix. He got me the latest Woods Of Ypres CD for xmas. *sigh*

It's indie rock. Why does anyone call this black metal? At least I also got some totally bitchin' habanero paste. Yummy!

The early Woods were black metal in the Agalloch-y sense of things, which isn't much but I found them enjoyable back then at least till 'Pursuit of the sun' was released. By the time the Green album and Woods 5 came out, I couldn't help but avoid them. Terribly boring stuff.

Well, I don't like Agalloch either. He should probably just stop trying to recommend music to me. It didn't work out the last three times he bought me CDs.
Not that I've told him, though... seems kinda rude.

Is it just me, or does it seem like every gothic metal group from Japan is desperately trying to be UVERworld?

You can't make this shit up.

Well, time to learn Thai. Or at least I must get a handle on what are masculine and feminine names in their language. I'd been carrying on an internet flirtation with who I assumed was a nice Thai girl. Then came the exciting news that "I'll be in Ottawa visiting family over the holidays!!! Here's a photo so you can recognize me at the airport sweetie. <3" The photo reveals some dude standing in front of a boat. When I apologized for the misunderstanding, he responded with the uncomfortably logical question, "you've never been with a man before, so how do you know you won't like it?" Just... because!

I'm pretty sure severzhavnost just jumped from "name I see around the forums from time to time" to "my absolute favorite".

You were internet flirting with someone who you had no idea what they looked like? Rookie mistake.

Numerically speaking, if 20 people are interested in flirting with me, 19 of them are women. Hehe what can I say? In this case I gambled and lost :D
