Mayhem - Pure Fucking Armageddon

IMO the second best song on Deathcrush EP. Can be described only with one word: mayhem!

To the properly distorted sound of my guitar, wondering how I could endure the muddy sound so long before finally replacing the batteries of the build-in preamp.

Galktik Cancer Squad - Omnivore

This is suprisingly quality modern black metal! Reminds me of filosofem-era Burzum but more technical and with a progressive edge. I like this ALOT.

Shub Niggurath - Triumphal Domain

This is really good death metal. I think I like this even better than the first album.

Ice Dragon ~ The Burl, The Earth, The Aether

Really one of the most impressive albums by one of the most impressive bands. I love this album, such amazing psychedelic doom (but thats really only part of the Ice Dragon formula).

Funeral Speech - Evil Of Game

Interesting Progressive Death from Russia. Going to listen to the rest of this album and spark a couple bowls.

Massemord - The Madness Tongue Devouring Juices Of Livid Hope

3rd time today. The droning, hypnotic guitars, the insane vocals full of resentment and angry realization AND the lyrics, the poetic lyrics. I'd love to know what was the inspiration for those!

Ahab - The Divinity of Oceans (album)

I don't know if this album will quite notch up to the first one, however, the opening track was decimatingly epic, so I have high hopes about the rest of it.

Kamelot - When the Lights Are Down, off The Black Halo

The layers and layers of beauty this thing has are almost otherwordly. In fact, this album would be my favourite Kamelot release if not for those fucking interludes.

Cold Walls and Apparitions by Elysian Blaze.

A lot more eventful than Levitating the Carnal so far, but unfortunately there's a lot less grand piano.

Nah, the interludes are fine; they add some breadth and space to the album. There are only like three of them, so it's not that big a deal for me. I respect you guys who don't like them (I know Ozzy doesn't either), but I dunno, just seems weird to complain about 3-4 minutes of music on an hour long album of fantastic material, is all. If it was some shit like Nightfall in Middle Earth, yeah I could see it, but I just don't think 3 little interludes is a big deal.

By far the best Kamelot album though, though Silverthorn and Epica come close.

I dig it. Reading about the NWN label and stumbled upon these guys. Cool artwork.

Hexenhaus - Incubus

The Awakening is my favorite Hexenhaus album next to The Edge of Eternity. Such tasty progressive thrash!

Trivium - ignition

I only like the first two tracks of the crusade, ignition & detonation. The rest can go fuck itself.

NP: Whitehouse - Never Forget Death

I have been listening to Whitehouse for about six and a half hours straight now. This certainly beats the time I listened to Masonna for 4 hours and 41 minutes straight. Actually, Masonna is easier listening than Whitehouse. I think my brain is going to implode.

Goddamn this album is underrated. It's an infernal storm of riffs.

@Wilytank Cold Walls... more eventful than Levitating? Hmm... busier, maybe, but more deliciously grandiose and atmospheric? Surely debatable.

NP: Terrorizer - World Downfall

Just checking this out for the first time because it's high time I educated myself on grindcore. Not that I've ever been too enthused about the idea, but hey... This strikes me as a pretty great album for what it is. Still probably wouldn't spin it very often. Maybe it'll be a grower. Should check out Repulsion and early Napalm Death next.

Slough Feg - Life in the Dark Age

Absolutely great, love the lyrics, the jovial tone, the 70s-style Sabbath/Priest/Scorpions riffing, everything...it's one of their best tunes.
