Seconding this - The Contortionist sound too much like prog/djentcore/wank/whatever.

Onslaught - from India - listed as Power/Thrash/Groove Metal but every band page tag is Christian Alternative Rock. Seems the band's music is really it - please take a listen on SoundCloud and Bandcamp. First album available on SoundClick.

Neuma: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Neuma/28202

Another Meshuggah ape that can be shown the door. (Poland seems to be really bad about making these. :ugh:) This one in particular is some weird hybrid of nu-metal, Tool and industrial, but no metal riffs, just shuffling bass and weird textures.

If that's enough, then I feel it should be edited to reflect this.

I've updated the add. notes for that album at Zatreon's page. It might have to be on their 'frontpage' too. No matter how fucked up actions like this is, we keep the album listed, because it's now part of metal history, and we are here to document it. It seems like this case hasn't come to an end yet, so if anything new turns up, please report it.

Why Bloodrocuted was accepted? Their upcoming album "Doomed to Annihilation" will be released on September 21st.

Judging by previous discussions, it has come to my attention that Bolt Thrower should be deleted since they were considered a hardcore band before being a metal band. I'm not at all serious.

Deleted LegioNex and Ill Rectum. No physical releases, apparently miskeri.net demo bands only.

Rated X from Switzerland is gone as well. Hard rock/AOR. Very curious that this was filed under "thrash/speed metal".

Bodies in the Gears of the Apparatus: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Bod ... atus/44232

Not entirely sure this is predominantly metal. Sounds like the non-metal parts of grindcore mixed with early Despised Icon and some mathcore. If you decide to keep this band, "mathcore" needs to be added to the genre.

-Only a "digital single" on Soundclick.
-Sounds like Evanescence. Exactly like them.

Bodies... should probably be nuked but I know Alhadis wants to archive info on bands like that and he is certainly more accustomed to that style than I am.

Deleted. They sure changed for the worse with their sophomore release. The debut is prog rock with some metal, but the second is djent so obvious it would make Animals as Leaders cringe.

Grouping these here for better access:
MetalCuresHeadaches wrote:
Why is Absinthropy here? I particularly enjoyed their stuff, but it sounds like dark/depressive rock rather than black metal, and even core-y in some places. If you took out the vocalist, it doesn't seem like there'd be that many traces of black metal at all.

Then again, I have a terrible judge in what counts as metal on the site, so maybe it's just me.

All their releases can be heard in their entirety at their Bandcamp.

I'm listening through The Contortionist's discography right now and it will most likely get deleted soon.

Submitted by a notorious, now-banned -core submitter too. Must be one of his that slipped through by accident.

EDIT: Gone.

I'm going to nominate the band Equimanthorn http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Equimanthorn/19311 I'm assuming that they're only here because a couple of the guys are also in Absu and I'm wondering if Absu is really a big enough (important enough) band for the side project rule?
Here's some samples and if you can actually sit through a whole song then you're a better man than me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zP-kZlNHrVI

All the songs that I've listened to are pretty much the same stuff as well.

A report filed pointed out this band - Tactile Gemma - which doesn't seem to be metal at all.

http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Tactile_Gemma/18440

Is this on here as a side project? If not, maybe this should go?

Deleted Abiotic from Norway. No conclusive evidence for a valid release.

I'm not that sure about Absinthropy anymore. There is quite a bit of black metal on the full-length, also instrumentally. Another mod thinks they're acceptable, so they'll most likely stay for now.

Are you serious? Absu IS relevant enough, and Equimanthorn IS a valid side project...
Da Rulz wrote:

Equimanthorn was started by two out of three members of Absu in 92/93, and were later joinded by the third memeber. Absu was started in 89, and by 91 all of the musicians that later started/were involved in Equimanthorn were ALREADY in the band.

just out of curiosity (and possibly also for educational value), why wasn't the X-mas project added to the archives until today?
