That is a truly unique Black Metal album. I'm a fan of all their works, but Autumn Aurora and Lebedynyy Shlyakh get the most plays from me. Good pick, man!

It really is a wonderful album. Its amazing how a genre as dark and extreme can produce such a beauty. Cheers man

Vital Remains - Scrolls of a Millennium Past

Into Cold Darkness is such a good album that it hurts. Too bad they never acknowledge it anymore.

My Bloody Valentine - Nothing Much To Lose

Everyone raves about Loveless which is of course great, but Isn't Anything is very good too.

The Black Dahlia Murder - "In Hell Is Where She Waits For Me"

Just picked up the new album. I haven't listened to this band since Nocturnal, and so far, I think this is better. I will have to backtrack a bit and listen to Deflorate and Ritual one of these days.

Ritual is better, but the first 4 songs on Everblack are perfect.

Isn't Anything is awesome. It actually seems a bit heavier than Loveless.

October Tide - 12 Days of Rain

It's rained every day for the past two weeks, so this seems appropriate.

Krisiun- Works of Carnage

Works of Carnage was the only album by Krisiun I did like in the past, but now it is finally clicking for some reason.

Totally man! Whenever I decide to listen to 'Frozen to Death' I end up putting it on repeat.
Top notch Death Metal.

Yea and I like how it pretty much just came out of no where (when it was released that is)

not too much music I've been listening to today cause I've been watching top lists about creepypasta and game glitches and other stupidity while painting. but decided to throw this on:

Asterisk* - Dogma

pretencious grindcore. still great regardless of the atmosphere they drapped upon themselves.

In anticipation of my copy of 13 arriving (hopefully this week), it's time to listen to more Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

Yeah, now this is what metal's all about...

EDIT: And right after that bitch, I threw on Paranoid.

That will be the one I have to check out first then.

The Black Dahlia Murder - "Map Of Scars"

Last song from the new album. Very awesome album, overall, I must say. Like Necro said, first four songs crushed, and then they kind of lost me for a bit, but only for a couple of songs. The album started off and ended very well, and the middle was good.

Stratovarius - Unbreakable

This really is stunningly good. Kudos to them for overcoming many flops over the years to persevere and release probably their best material ever.

That one has grown on me a lot. I remember not knowing WTF to think of it when it came out - every song sounded like it belonged on a different album. But it's quite a varied palette of Stratovarius's talents. I still think Episode is their classic, but Nemesis (and Elysium) come damn close.

Nightwish - She Is My Sin

My favorite album by em. Inventive guitarwork, cool tone and excellent vocals. Nothing else like it.

Demilich - The Uncontrollable Regret Of The Rotting Flesh

The second Demilich demo is just plain awesome. The later demos have their songs included on Nespithe so I guess I don't need to check them out.

I should listen to this!

Skogens Hjärta from (2010) Hypothermia - Skogens Hjärta.
A friend of mine has just recommend me this after been talking about (2005) Shining - IV - The Eerie Cold and I'm enjoying it at first listen.

Day 2 of '13 Anticipation'

A back-to-back play of Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality & Black Sabbath - Snowblind

Just plain godly music. We'll be singing these hymns in a hundred years, at the Unholy Church of Heavy Metal.

Dawnbringer - Like an Earthquake

I'm on a Dawnbringer binge today. Really effective and recognizable band while remaining quite simple and to the point in the songwriting department. love 'em.

NP: Nocturnal Rites - In a Time of Blood and Fire

I rarely enjoy Europower (early Helloween, early Blind Guardian and Hammerfall's first being some of the few exceptions), and so didn't listen to Nocturnal Rites for ages, but this is great.

Queued:

Nokturnal Mortum - Marble Moon EP

I'm not a big fan of folk in my black metal, and so I've never really bothered checking out NM, but apparently this is their purest BM release, so it's a good starting point for me.

Sorrow - Hatred and Disgust

One of the greatest, yet horrifically underrated death/doom albums ever.

Maranatha - Incarnate EP

Hardcore that's decidedly modern, and which has plenty of breakdowns. By all rights, I should hate it, but it's pretty good.

Nails - Abandon All Life

This album gets a lot of flak, but to me it crushes the fucking universe! Everything about it is face-melting and soul-eviscerating.

Iron Maiden ~ Sanctuary from "Iron Maiden"

"I met up with a stranger last night to keep me alive.
He spends all his money on gambling and guns to survive."

On a massive Maiden kick right, but seriously why is this song so fun haha

Like Symbolic-era Death only years earlier, and much cooler.

^yeah, great album. World Coming Down is my favourite, though.

Manilla Road - Cat and Mouse

Their first album is definitely a good one. Like that it's more hard rock oriented and has some psych shit.

The Chasm - Fortress

I don't understand how the these guys aren't famous. They've literally released good album after album. They should be 10x bigger than Deicide.

Falls Of Rauros ~ The Light That Dwells in Rotten Wood.

I really, really like this. USBM from the Northeast but loosely connected to the whole cascadian scene. the guy from Panopticon does drumming on this album I'm pretty sure. The lyrics are awesome and the music is filled with emotion. I'm definitely picking up this cassette.

That album rules! I didn't know that the Panopticon dude drummed on it, but I always thought that the playing on the album was superb. They way the band entwines the acoustic, folky elements with cold black metal is unbeatable! Apparently they did a split with Vestiges that's supposedly good.

Panopticon (not Falls of Rauros) did a split with Vestiges, which is really good (though I need to listen to the Panopticon tracks more, I'm much more familiar with the Vestiges tracks as of now. Still waiting for the pre-orders to ship too). All of those bands are excellent.

NP: Ajna - Ajna

I guess this would be described as ritual ambient. Very tribal sounding due to the flute parts, but still very droney. I think this project is somehow related to Forest Grave as well.
