When I say time vampires, I mean websites that once you read a page on there, you end up stuck there.

Here are mine

TV Tropes - Humongously nerdy, meta and informal wiki of narrative devices/cliches etc found in movies/videogames/literature/etc

Cracked - Satirical website. Lists of everything from insane shit you didn't know about politicians, openly homicidal insects, mind-bafflingly useful inventions you didn't know about, blah blah blah

Youtube - Man, fuck youtube. It was very good of all these tech savvy people to upload a billion hours of music, comedy and trailers for me to piss away every single waking moment of my life absorbing...

Amazon, epsecially when shopping for books. The "customers also bought..." can have you end up looking at some off the wall shit.

First time I discovered Amazon I'd just gotten a huge paycheck from work.
Three hours on Amazon went by and then I realised "Hang on, what the fuck am I going to eat?!"

The ridiculous collection of music and movies and books made eating Weetabix and noodles for a month worth it.

marvel.wikia.com, a Marvel Comics wiki. About 3 years ago, I Googled something about a comic I owned, and this site was the first result. I clicked there once, and never left. Even became an admin.

highdefdigest- mainly the reviews
bolt.cd- one of my favorite forums to read/download anything.
amazon, especially with books
probably the most obvious, facebook. I constantly find new authors/bands there.

Or just avoid the forums and enjoy the site itself? SHOCKING!!

This, always this. I try to stay away from it for awhile and then I might spend an entire day just reading all the new content cause when I first found out about it, god it ate up so much time. I just keep clicking and going to the next and the next and the next. it was like a neverending list of shit that's amusing. But I've always kinda been like with certain websites that I really enjoyed.

I remember going on seanbaby.com long ago and reading every single bit of his website over a month while I worked as a computer tech. Also cliff yablonski hates you all which was on something awful's site.

I try to keep it contained more so I can get more shit completed. also really liked www.metalreview[s].com? before it became lastrites. I hate what it is now the layout is shit and the reviews aren't all that often anymore.

Wikipedia - I would read shit about the anatomy of some wired animal that was extinct since the 1900's while I have to study for a test.
9gag - get your rage comics on for an hour
Imgur - get your emotional picture fix for another 2 hours
CNN, BBC - I must know the update on that Boston bombing, was the suspect eating falafel or shawarma before committing the act

I can spend a long time on the Internet Encyclopaedia of Philosophy and the Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy, whiling away hours upon hours of largely misunderstanding various philosophical discourse.

TV Tropes does have a godawful userbase, but the worst thing that ever happened to it was the removal of lolis and whatnot.

No Hope for the Human Race; I have their Facebook and every once in a while I just spend an hour doing nothing but skimming through their hilarious pictures. I'm not much for memes, but No Hope is the best there is for hilarious pictures and what not - the "fine wine" of internet-based picture humor.

I like to deny this myself because I associate reddit with the awful aww, adviceanimals and atheism subreddits, but I do spend way too much time here too. Mostly on gaming, cyberpunk and occasionally gonewild in case I find someone I know :D

And yeah, fuck cracked. Something about lists makes you just want to keep clicking...even totally boring topics are somehow made to look interesting.

Every time i read reviews for a particular band/album on Metal Archives i go from review to review and from album to album, often spending many hours just reading...

Also, i am sure discogs and ebay have been created by satan... Whenever i sit here late at night after a lot of beer and browse through ebay or discogs, i usually buy tons of rare and overpriced stuff. Waking up the next mornig and realizing i had just spent several hundred Euros the night before for CDs and Vinyls, although already beeing completely broken, just sucks and makes me think about stoping to use the internet... (of course i can't stop drinking beer!)

Tumblr was my personal time vampire for the longest time. Met lots of chill, like-minded people there and it is a great resource for music and whatever contemporary internet trends/jokes you're interested in, but I found myself on it way too much. Finally gave my password to a friend for her to change a few days ago and I won't be on it for a while.

Imgur is a guilty pleasure. Loads of preachy posts, celebrity worship, cuteness, sentimental bullshit etc. to corrode the brain, but a lot of really entertaining stuff too.

Pictured here: someone who gets all their information about Reddit from 4chan.

It's not a le maymay site. It's a content aggregate with sections devoted to local city affairs, hobbies, self-help, and just about any other topic of discussion under the sun, which of course includes les maymays in designated places. Don't be ignorant.

well I gotta say Youtube. I spend a LOT of time checking out bands, both old and new (to me) on there. It's all good though; I don't feel like I'm wasting time if I discover a great band, AND I can do more meaningful stuff- like answer e-mail, pay bills, and so on, while I listen!

I WOULD say Facebook, but luckily I have not yet succumbed to the temptation to create a Facebook account. On average though, I'd probably say Facebook is the worst.

If I'm ever in need of a good laugh or living proof that my life could always suck more I like to kill time here http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/photos/ all it ever really takes is two or three photos and I feel better, the rest of the time is just for laughs really.

I used to visit 9gag a lot but got really tired of the extremely repetitive and annoying Nutella-Colorful cakes-Oreo "jokes", as well as the celebration of cursing, procrastination and the "I'm cool, bitch, I don't give a fuck" attitude. I'm lost for words to express how I despise this subculture of vegan cat-worshipers, tattooed ultrapale, instagramized individuals. The epitome of superficiality.

Used to visit oddee.com a lot, really fun site. These days I spent a lot of time on Twitter and notdoppler.com, cinemassacre.com, or browsing through game wikipedias.

I guess I could say Google, Facebook, Youtube and Metal-Archives if I was to be boring. To be somewhat interesting I find io9, Topless Robot, Film School Rejects and Den of Geek aren't too bad and have some really good articles from time to time. I don't particularly have a favourite as most websites are inconsistent or lack frequent updates. Racketboy was a big time-waster until I read everything and Batman-news was also fun until Rises came out and it lost relevance.

I've had a RateYourMusic account for quite a while, but I never realized the power of the charts function until recently. Being able to search for hundreds of obscure and interesting bands that aren't metal, obviously supported by equal amount of time searching YouTube and blogspots, is very addicting. I have an eternally growing wishlist of albums I want to listen to more thoroughly thanks to them.
