I aspire to live up to my father's success. As a law student I am fascinated by case law and the wisdom of judges. I have nothing but respect for them and would like to someday become one myself. It isn't what I'd be happiest doing (that would be something classics or archaeology related) but given my background I realized long ago that I couldn't just 'pick' what I liked. Attaining the lord justice status would be my idea of success.

Besides this I am a novice bodybuilder (almost a year of strict weight training and diet routine) and my dream is to someday sculpt my idea of the perfect physique.

The rest is just everyone's typical goals: marry a great girl, maybe have some kids, ultimately find happiness.

Unfortunately lately I feel like my priorities are skewed. I am way to focused on a relationship, trying to get married and have children. I guess at 31 and with my younger brothers engaged/married it has become a major issue for me. What I should really be focusing on is what they haven't done, like finishing my degree and following through with my career goal of becoming a script writer for digital media, which to me means that I am a story teller, and that I get paid to tell stories which is something I love to do.

This, pretty much. I'm the kind of guy that engulfs myself in the present.

Short term goals: graduate from community college, earn various tech certs.
Long term: work for/ own IT firm.
Probably not gonna happen but would be cool anyways: own a restaurant/ bar.

Marag: shut up, we know you're a pussy.

My "hey, that's probably doable" goals
-Graduate (in like 2 years)
-Get a job as a teacher and become a permanent somewhere (that's gonna be rough)
-Keep my MA moderator job 'cause I'm cool like that.
-Get a puppy of my own, I'd like a French bulldog.
-Get a long term relationship with someone, someone who has a good job 'cause see I'll be a teacher.
-I'd like to do trips around the world to meet the MA people (Finland, Italy, England, USA, Germany, Australia...) and as a teacher, I'll have 2 months off during the summers!
-Move to Sweden and marry Mikael Akerfeldt.
-Open a restaurant/music store called "Papa Bear Steak and Music".
-Crush Veracs with my bare hands.

Polygamy, eh?

I'd really like to become famous off my fiction writing. Not for the money, though I certainly wouldn't object to that. But because I want my opinion to carry weight, and my stories to reach wide audiences. I'd also really love to travel and meet lots of beautiful women.

What is it with this dog? I swear my last girlfriend was more into her French bulldog than she was into me. And no that totally does not say more about me than it does the dog.

the usual stuff - to have fun, to learn, to travel and experience new things, and (if within my power) to reduce the amount of misery around me...in a nutshell - to be a better person than I was yesterday...

Here's mine:
-To graduate from my undergrad (2 or 3 years)
- To get a decent job/make a fair amount of money
- Suppose a long term relationship eventually
- To travel more, I'd especially love to see more of Europe
-To witness Necroticism174 and IX Leviathan get in a fistfight.

On a personal level, what I really want to do is make music. I don't mean as a job, I just to play with a band and be a part of at least one really good album. I already have the majority of two albums written, I just don't have the means to make an album as the band I'm part of now is very dysfunctional and never gets anything done. I'd also like to get better as a musician first (hopefully none of you have heard that abomination (purely on my account, Lexi's vocals were great) I had on one of the songwriting challenges).

I have very high aspirations, so these goals may not be as realistic as I like to think they are. But here they are:

- Complete my undergraduate degree at least with a final mark of at least 65 in my neuroscience major
- Enter neuroscience honours and graduate with first-class honours
- Postgraduate research at a reputable university
- Overcome my speech disorder and fatigue
- Enter academia
- Become a lecturer at a reputable university
- Have sex with certain members of MA (Metantoine, dystopia4 and co., you know what I mean)
- Enter a long-term relationship

Out of all of that, I think the last one is going to be the hardest of all to achieve.

I guess my biggest desire in life is to write a book one-tenth as good as In Search of Lost Time. So yes, as unlikely as it is, I wish to become the next Proust or Nabokov. I don't aspire to be rich, but I don't want to have to worry about my financial situation. Overcoming my abundant social anxiety and self-seclusion will be perhaps the greatest challenge of all.

I'd like to be published, whether it be for journalism or even just some sort of fiction. That's probably my biggest goal.

I'd also like to try stand-up but that'll probably never happen as I'm a total coward.

My passions aren't really all that related to my personal goals. I know I'll never be good enough in the waves to make it professionally, and I'm probably never going to be in a remotely successful band either. Re: career goals, I think that shit's retarded, work/life balance? laaaaaame.

So have my bucket list. I like to think I'm good at ticking stuff off it, What remains from most likely to least likely is:

- Settle down in a bush block that overlooks the ocean (boring, right?).
- Climb a 7km+ mountain
- Surf a few waves, Clops/The Right/Chopes, all of which will require balls that I'm not sure I have.
- I've already seen some crazy aurora but I badly want to do it again
- Wander around in both Northern Canada and Central Asia for a year
- Climb Mt.Erebus (unlikely, but rad)
- Go into space (super unlikely, but dreams are free)

Oh, and the financial goal me and the wife have is to have two houses fully paid off by the time we're 60.

First three I see as really likely within the next three/four years before me and the wife have children, next two are possibilities but require resources I don't really have and the wife's permission, last two would both be super cool but are wildly expensive endeavours.

I have yet to discover my passion in life. It's obvious to me that music is my biggest interest, and I can't imagine myself living a life that doesn't revolve around music one way or another, but I'm not aspiring to be a successful musician or anything like that. Hell, I have yet to start my first band. Two of my other interests are social issues and politics, and I am planning to join a political party on short notice. To be fair I have really just started to explore the possibilities, and right now I'm just content with my life as it is. School, working here and there, hanging out with friends, etc etc.

Oh, and to listen to lots and lots of music ofcourse.

The winner, in my opinion.

I have just two, both are of the "simple... but obviously not easy" type:
1) A loving relationship which will always be a source of happiness.
2) Becoming a professional musician with one or two stable bands/projects. The "perfect dream version": being recognised in my genre (which will probably mean progressive rock/metal of one type or another) and being someone that most fans of said genre have at least heard of (speaking of which, Opeth is probably a good example of what I mean). Fuck typical "fame and fortune", I'm an insane romantic artist wannabe.

These are the two big ones. #1 should be left with a moment of silence for now, #2 is... very very slowly developing.

Got plenty of goals:
Realistic
-Finish my bachelor's degree and at least a master's degree
-Write a book, maybe short stories and/or poetry
-TRAVEL A WHOLE LOT
-Be actively involved in the creation of a videogame. Bonus points if it is a psychological horror or a ridiculously over-the-top action game.
-Be in a relationship...
-Have badass metalhead kids and see them grow into adulthood

Unrealistic
-Be in a metal band. Bonus points if it sells enough to cover costs of recording
-Fake a British accent in an interview
-Meet a few Victoria's Secret models
-Have sex with said Victoria's Secret models
-Be incredibly rich
-Make the dream I had that night a reality

My ultimate goal is to make sure my family is taken good care of. I want my son and girlfriend (the mother of my son) to have everything they need, and more. I want them to be happy and safe, and I want my son to grow up realizing that he has infinite potential, no matter what he may encounter, and live his life accordingly.

From a more superficial standpoint, I would like to continue advancing in my career, making more money and acquiring more knowledge in regards to technology (as far as AV, home automation, security, etc). I would like to buy a nice house, marry my girlfriend, and send my son off to a good school.

As for passion, I can't say I've ever had it to be honest.

Drifting aimlessly gets boring after a few months or so. Striving for something is part of our nature and what makes us awesome.

My goals are
1.To live life as if every day is my last.
2.Make a death metal album.
3.Find a job that involves music.

I see #2 as being a reality before too long as I have the music finished for 6 songs and i'm working on 2 more.
I don't care if I get famous because of it.I just want the satisfaction of seeing my name on a metal album.

I'm still trying to figure out how to make #3 a reality and I already live by #1.

My goals eh?...

Well I'm already a leading hand/foreman at my job, and damn good at my job, making decent money I guess, but I could rise higher in time...

What I would really like though is a nice, boat for estuary/offshore fishing and bag me a decent kingfish (they can grow to 40kg), and generally fish around Australia, especially Western Australia/Northern Territory.

More traveling (Japan, UK, USA, Europe... and New Zealand again)

Retire semi-early and move to New Zealand or the UK.

Learn to play guitar better.

See my diabetic son grow up healthily well into his old age :(

And finally, die during sex at an old age.

Personal Goals/Passion (not time bound but hopefully in the next 3-4 years)
+ Learn a foreign language with basic fluency - possibly German or Japanese.
+ Well, like many who have already mentioned, I really want to step up my guitar playing abilities and possibly compose some doom.
+ I have a bucket-list of places to visit. Sigh. I hope I can manage to strike them off by the time I'm 30. Some of those places would be Istanbul, Ulaanbataar, New Zealand.

Career-wise, my life is going in different directions at the moment. Doing some part-time work after quitting my full-time job early this year. I hope to settle down soon. Similar to what Dave mentioned about teaching in North Africa, I fancy working for a world organization like UN either as a teacher, program manager etc. I can do that for a couple of years for the experience, learning different cultures and of course the travel. I'll look into the application process.

I'm sort of reconsidering a few of them lately, as at 34 I've ticked a few off the list. Recorded a bunch of albums, played in the U.S and Europe, bought and paid off a house, nearly finished a masters degree, met a nice girl (after quite a few nasty ones haha), nearly finished my Masters degree and I'm finally on the cusp of landing a job that will put me in an above-average pay bracket for the first time in my life. So a few of the remaining ones are:

* kick start my solo music project
* write a novel and have it professionally published
* Win a golden demon (miniature painting trophy)
* Win a wargaming tournament
* finally get my drivers licence (yeah, yeah, I know, who cant drive at 34. Inner city assholes like me, that's who)
* Try and save enough to make some good investments
* crush my enemies
* see them driven before me
* hear the lamentations of the women
