Hi. been on a bit of a black metal kick lately, and i've had WITTR recommended to me by numerous people,so i was wondering, what is the recommended order to listen to their albums? Oftentimes, I choose chronological, but I've heard some people say otherwise. So, to all you fans out there, what say you?
Thank you.

Two Hunters is their best. Majestic riffs.

Just go chronological. They progressively get worse and worse, so you're better off starting with the very best.

You would be better off if you were to ask this question in the recommendational thread. However, I would echo other people's thoughts and say that Two Hunters is spiritual stuff.

This. Definitely my favourite album by them, very strong from start to finish. I enjoy all their material, though I found their latest didn't quite grab me as much as their previous efforts for some reason.

I agree with going chronologically, but I wouldn't say they get worse by any means. Two Hunters is their best in my opinion, but Celestial Lineage is an incredibly beautiful album that I think is second only to Two Hunters. They only have 4 albums and an EP so starting with Diadem and working forward is a pretty good way to go.

Well, Black Cascade is my personal favorite, but I agree you can't go wrong. I'd argue that Black Cascade is perhaps their most "straightforward" album, in as it contains less atmospheric 'filler' than the others. (Not disparaging them, just trying to help you decide what you might want to start with.) It's all good stuff though.

check out Fell Voices and Ash Borer. Much better version of WiTTR are. With that said, Two Hunters is their most well rounded work.

Everything Fell Voices has done is great, everything before Ash Borer's Cold of Ages is amazing.

Start with Diadem (excellent), then move on to Two Hunters (their best). Black cascade is ok. Celestial is worthless (not sure why but I cannot remember anything from this album no matter how hard I try to get into it)

If you are looking for similar bands check out Addaura and Alda

I'd start with "Sorrow Galaxies".
