Hate to break it to you, but I've been dealing in metal records for over 30 years and I knew that.

Oh snap.

Yeah, the first thing I thought when I saw that haul was "wait, wasn't that Deathrow album not officially released on CD until later on?" Well, there you have it.

Elysian Blaze: Blood Geometry.

Took me awhile to get round to this one, even longer for EB to click in the first place. Dealt with Mutatiis himself. He's a rad dude: decent, honest, accommodating.

A couple days ago I got:
Image
Shai Hulud - Reach Beyond the Sun
Magic Circle - S/T
Stormwitch - Tales of Terror
Atom God - History Re-Written

The Shai Hulud and Magic Circle albums are great, the Atom God one is pretty bad, and I haven't got to listen to the Stormwitch one yet.

Finally got the new Darkthrone in the mail. I've heard a lot of people badmouthing it but it's also gotten pretty good reviews here and elsewhere. Time to give it a whirl and see what it's all about.

I thought Power Games was solid, but it definitely gets lost in the shuffle for me. That Legend album though? That's become one of my all-time favorites. I hope you have or plan on getting the s/t debut as well. It's a little rougher/rawer but almost as perfect. I love how old they sound. You can tell they took a lot if not all of their cues from 70s metal.

Job for a cowboy - Demonocracy
Marduk - Serpent Sermon

Demonocracy was a bit of a let down compared to Ruination, but still a solid album. On the other hand Serpent Sermon just kills!! It's amazing how, after Mortuus joined Marduk, every album they release is better than the previous one.

Summoning - Oath Bound

I'm in the late train for this. Since there's a new record coming, I had to dig Mortal Heroes and Stronghold from the shelves and order this. Truly an unique band, but well, you all propably knew it already. I hold Mortal Heroes as their best, but this is very good too.

Power Games is decent, despite the awful cover, but it's a shame that Axe Crazy isn't on that because that's their best song.

I love Legend, they're probably of the most underrated out of the whole movement. I like the debut, and I plan on getting that on vinyl eventually, but I prefer DITN. While it's unfortuante they went in more of an AOR direction after that, I actually like those songs, they're just very minor league though.
