Next year, I'm planning on travelling to Germany. Since I've never been to a metal festival (and only one concert), it'd be the perfect time to go to one. However, does anybody know of some that are going on during the Spring? February-April specifically. I've looked on a couple sites (mainly Wikipedia-esque) and barely found anything. Even just names and links would help a lot!

The next thing you can do is check the webpages of the bands you want to see.

For metal and hardrock gigs in the Netherlands, I find this site useful http://www.lordsofmetal.nl/en/concertagenda

There will definitely be ton of shows and lots of big bands touring in and around Germany during that time. This might require some work but you could look up http://www.last.fm/events. Set your location to 'Germany' or whichever country, set the genre of artists and then browse. It's really helpful and the entire last.fm community keeps these events up-to-date.
