Times of Grace - Hymn Of A Broken Man
Very rarely will I put on a -core or alternative record. This is one such exception and it's quite an excellent album.

Manilla Road - Playground Of The Damned

I read someone call this album the closest they came to the sound of their Metal album. I dunno, this is noticeably heavier. I guess it feels 'bouncy' like Metal does...

Ain't I just full of surprises? oh wait...

Armagedda - I Am

This is a fucking great EP, full of raw, icy and hateful black metal. Not the band's best material (that would be Only True Believers), but still damn solid with good song construction and excellent vocals.

I'm sitting in my car listening to the new hate album while eating pizza, because I don't have a cd player in my house.

"Abstract" -
Joe Harriott

Certainly not the most 'abstract' Jazz I've listened to, compared to a lot of the French stuff on Prestige this is quite standard. Still very interesting though. I can't imagine how much cocaine and heroin it took to make this album.

Torture Squad - Hellbound

On a Brazilian death/thrash binge this night, mostly due to a requested review. It's fun to review an album and then go on a spree, listening to similar stuff from the same local scene. :)

Man, I had like a month back a few years ago where I listened to those guys non stop, but then for some reason never listened to them again. :???: Great fucking band though.

Stratovarius - Abandon

This sounds NOTHING like their last few albums at all; much more propulsive, proggy and fresh sounding power metal. Almost like a new band.

Ehnarhe: Old Earth.

wasn't as thrilled with this as all their previous work. too just expansive.. aka wandering nothingness.

Well that sucks because I recently got this and wandering nothingness was one of my main problems with The Man Closing Up.

Wow The Man Closing Up is fucking great. it contains plenty of actual content and musical merit

this is loads of openess. it's more often where it's separate instruments playing quietly than as a band as a whole.

Like, wow man. This is one hell of an album, it's so minimal and so massive at the same time.

^ Great song.

Unholy-Colossal Vision

I never imagined I would enjoy this album as much as I do

Virgin Steele - Snakeskin Voodoo Man

Hey this is some cool stuff. A hard hitting bluesy kind of rocker that doesn't sound lame or tries too hard. This is what the whole Life Among the Ruins material should have been like. Theres soloing everywhere and David DeFeis is wailing with power over it as always. Good stuff.

Now that's a surprise Emp. ;) I'd recommend Pandemonium over anything else they've ever made, but I still have some love for Hellbound's semi-technical approach and The Unholy Spell's raw persona. I find the rest to be really hit and miss.

Chaos Synopsis - Art Of Killing

Yeah, this really isn't half bad and I'll be posting my review maybe tomorrow. It's a bit samey but has some of that Brazilian magic I enjoy so much. :)

Immolation - The Purge
Not that scrobbles matter but I just realized how unfairly Immolation is represented in my last.fm library. I blame that on mp3 players and pre-lastfm era.

Hæresiarchs of Dis

the music I can dig even with it being so bass heavy in the mix... but goddamn these vocals are fucking terrible.
