I´m looking for Metal bands, they can be any kind of Metal except progressive or power metal with a good dose of PF atmosphere, solos and brilliant songwriting.
I already have mid era Anathema, and some Hypocrisy (the song sleeping away is sweeeet)
So, if you have some of it, please, share!
Tx

My knowledge of Pink floyd is very superficial, but give Riverside a try http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Riverside/16437.

However i wouldn't call them metal, atmospheric rock maybe, but still superb band.

Inter Arma's last EP "Destroyer" has a healthy dose of psych and some pretty excellent lead work. It's the only release I've heard from the band so I can't vouch for the earlier work.

http://interarma.bandcamp.com/track/the ... oad-home-2

EDIT: Also Enos. Not particularly metal but you'd probably still enjoy it

You should check Astra, not metal but it's an heavier and modern PF and of course, modern Enslaved (Vertebrae, Axioma and RITTIR especially)

In every progressive bands theres always a tiny tiny doze of PF...for example Pestilence´s Spheres is full of keyboards and jazzy parts, full of echo and shit. The thing is in which degree.

Porcupine Tree and Tool are obvious references (not so metal but anyway) they are full of PF moments and the influence is clear, maybe you would Enjoy Cynic, Aeon Spoke, Alchemist and that sort of bands. As Metantoine said, modern Enslaved is as closer as heavy metal gets to Gilmour and cia.

Nokturnal Mortum's latest has quite a few proggy moments. The solo work and synthy atmosphere draws comparison to the likes of Pink Floyd.

Turbid North mix old school death metal with atmospheric sludge and psychedelic stuff. This almost completely instrumental track in particular is fantastic:

Nachtmystium - Assassins: Black Meddle (catched the PF reference?) Pt.1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRIrWnEfiaI

Nocte Obducta - Sequenzen einer Wanderung

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmZpRBo ... sults_main

Both have HUGE Pink Floyd-Influences. The Nocte Obducta release even more so. It's basically what Pink Floyd would sound like if they were a metal band.

Tiamat's Wildhoney is the ultimate example of Pink Floyd-influenced metal. I'm surprised I'm the first to mention it.

UK's Anathema has been very influenced by Pink Floyd for most of their career.

I don't know much about pink Floyd, but I have heard others say that Enslaved "Monumension" and after era albums are heavily influenced by pink Floyd. Also Nachtmystium "assassins" 1 and 2 have been said to have pink Floyd influences. Hope this helps

Agalloch have sort of Pink Floyd-ish touch in most of their compositions. I guess you might know about them already. Most metalheads are well aware of them by now. Apart from that Ice Dragon and The Flight of Sleipnir. Both brilliant bands and neither of them are typically 'progressive metal'.

Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone by Akercocke has quite a few PF moments in it.

He asked for 'non-prog metal' bands, and SM are generally considered prog metal. Great band nonetheless.

I don't consider them straight prog metal, so I felt they fit to a T.

Although quite proggy, Voivod is an obvious mention. The newest Tiamat has just as much Pink Floyd influence.

Pink Floyd are very progressive, so I'm not sure how close to their sound you will get if you remove the progressive elements. Are you looking for a Piper at the Gates of Dawn era sound? Or which albums?

My knowledge of Pink Floyd is very limited, so forgive me if this is not what you're looking for. In an interview with Fleurety from a long time ago, one of the members noted that the song-writing of their Min Tid Skal Komme album (which features avant-garde black metal) was very influenced by Pink Floyd and progrock in general. And I really love that album, so give it a listen:
