http://cinemassacre.com/2013/01/04/name ... metallica/

I just watched this and he is incredibly good at naming songs from just a few milliseconds of a song.

A quite fun watch really! I am just about to watch his Name That Tune with Black Sabbath as well

(I didn't even attempt at trying since I only listen to the early stuff... maybe I could name just as many Running Wild songs tho  )

This seems like FFA material.. but it's a quite fun watch, I'm not the biggest Metallica fan, but I got some of the songs right anyway.

Hes a big fan of Priest, Sabbath, Metallica and Motorhead, he wears their shirts pretty often.

I knew most of the early ones and St. Anger ones, including a few that stumped him, but I was thinking
Spoiler: show
Damage Inc.
instead of
Spoiler: show
Disposable Heroes
. Whoops

I recall him having an entire Iron Maiden wall in one of his videos and he went through the CDs briefly (I think). Can't remember for the life of me which video it was from.

Edit: Found it: http://cinemassacre.com/2011/07/06/the- ... game-nerd/

@30:37. Nevermind about him talking about them. Must have been someone else.

13+ minutes of AVGN's smug smile. Wonderful.

I think the only ones I recognized immediately based on the clip were Battery, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Four Horsemen, and Seek and Destroy.

The second I heard "One..." I said LEPER MESSIAH and was pretty surprised that he didn't get that one. I'm missing almost every post-Justice song, however.

EDIT: Ok, by about the sixth minute the clips seemed to get shorter and shorter and I had a ~75% failing rate by then.

The fucking Angry Video Game Nerd, that's who muthafucker...
sorry, I couldn't resist.

Anyways, he does mostly satirical reviews of old video games and occasionally a movie.

At one time I could have done the same with Iron Maiden, but alas! years have eroded my database...

On a side note, I recommend AVGN. His review of Karate Kid was the first video I ever saw on YouTube :)

Well he's in the middle of doing his semi-big budget movie with an occasional AVGN episode every few months.

Windrammer would be a cool name for a power metal band.

He's also a fan of Dio and Slayer. I think I missed 'Name That Tune', probably because the movie players on his site are awful and force me to gravitate towards his youtube channel instead, and that's seriously lacking in overall content. I'm glad AVGN has mellowed out on his later videos, it's made his reviews far more enjoyable to watch while retaining the humour that's ever present throughout. I skip most of Mike Matei's reviews though as his voice and attempts at being funny are annoying and usually fall flat.

That's pretty cool. It's too bad his new episode "atari sports" isn't very entertaining. Gotta respect AVGN though. I've been following his series for a few years and he's provided me with much laughs.

That was pretty cool, has he ever done some kind of tour like video or whatnot before? Showing off his collection, place, etc. Would be cool to see.

His newer stuff has definitely been pretty awesome lately.

He's done a big half hour video showcasing his DVD and VHS collection (including his music DVDs, of which are mostly metal such as the Big 4 show, various Ozzy, Sabbath, and Rob Zombie DVDs, and We Sold Our Souls for Rock and Roll among others), but never one about his album collection. He's definitely got something though considering he has every single Iron Maiden album ever released on a wall of his house, live albums included.

Didn't know a quarter of them. And I'm a Metallica nerd for sure. The Load-Death Magnetic era was the hardest. The classics were easier to identify.

I watch a bit of Cinemassacre but I didn't realize he did stuff like this. May have to see how many videos there are like this...

I just find it amusing that Disposable Heroes and Lepper Messiah managed to stump him though I found myself struggling with just about everything past the Black Album. Go figure :P

I can't believe Matei actually tried to stump him with Enter Sandman. He really is useless to that website.

That whole letter would have been much funnier if it was read in a racist japanese voice (which is who it sounds like it was written by.
