I would murder some seriously important for the opportunity to go back in time and witness this concert.

Can't say I like Dream Theater as much as I did earlier but they seemed to be a really cool energetic band back until 1995 or so. I too, if I had the chance, would have liked to see them back then.

Cynic - Integral Birth

I'm only just now hearing 'Traced in Air', and it sounds pretty good to me. About what I expected, really.

Love this album. It's totally weird and demanding, but wow, I've been stuck to it for the last few days. Awesome record.

Armored Saint - The Truth Always Hurts, off Symbol of Salvation

A mid-tempo stomper with gritty lyrics and a very intense yet flexible vocal performance courtesy of John Bush. Love this record.

I agree, I think Material could be interesting to remake as well. I mean I like the originals but the re imagining of Kingdom convinced me that Physicist could be improved.

And because of reading your post, listening now to:

Devin Townsend - By Your Command

Fuck. Yes. My favorite song from an already killer album. The classic rock influence gives those main riffs that right amount of swing and swagger so they stick in your head long after the song's over. Agreed that John's in top form here, attitude for miles. Symbol of Salvation is exhibit A of triumph through tragedy for me.

Blasting Adding Heads to the Pile by A Band of Orcs. Gimmick aside, Juan Urteaga's band summons a vital if unoriginal take on death/thrash that doesn't wade in unnecessary contemporary frivolities and brings the hurt with a continual riffset instead. The production's as expected for a modern album of this genre, but the emphasis is on the guitars where it should be. These songs were written to be enjoyed as an album but ultimately intended for a live bludgeoning.

Kamelot - Silent Goddess

The riffs sound pretty crunchy here which is why I dig this song probably. i also like Roy Khan's explosive high notes that finish the song on a great way.
