Poster for the Cleveland show. Doesn't look like they've announced the tour yet but the venue spilled the beans I guess. Anyhow, I'm definitely looking forward to this tour. All around really solid line-up.

Meh, I love Wintersun, but I'm not too big on the other bands. I'll still go though if it comes to MA, because it should be fun anyways.

This would be a pretty sweet tour. Though I doubt Varg will get a visa to play in the US

He is a convicted felon/murderer, and it would not be the first time the US denied a visa for that reason. Jon Nödtveidt of Dissection was denied entry into the US due to his involvement in the murder of a young man in Lillehammer.

I'll have to make the trip to Pittsburgh for this one. No Philly show though? That's odd. It's 2 1/2 hours to Pittsburgh or 3 1/2 to Philly, so no complaints. It's just weird that Pittsburgh gets a show that Philly doesn't.

Already got my ticket, hope to see you there dude!

I might just leave after Wintersun plays, Eluveitie honestly sounds like folk metalcore to me.

Yeah I was actually really happy to see that Wintersun isn't headlining so that I won't have to stay for the shop thing now, Eluveitie used to be good but I havn't really gotten into their last few albums and could care less if I saw them.

Yeah, what the hell? I mean Pittsburgh is actually closer for me, but the venues in Philly are much better.

I'd love to go to this but they're not hitting up Regina, only Saskatoon (3 hours away). That wouldn't be such a big problem if I didn't have a final exam the day of AND the day after the show.

Going to have to make the trek up to Pittsburgh for this one (why would they skip DC/Baltimore?!) but it's worth it for Wintersun. Excited to see Eluveitie, too. Last time I saw them, they were touring with Children of Bodom and some other death metal bands, so they emphasized their faster, harsher songs (though they did play "Inis Mona" and that new song that sounds sort of like Evanescence (ugh)). Hopefully on a headline tour with another folk metal band (Varg) they'll be able to play a wider variety of songs.

They don't have any 'core' elements like punkish vocals or simplistic riffs. The vocals and guitars sound closer to death metal to me. Whatever floats your boat, though. There are lots of bands I don't like, too.

I'm so pissed that they aren't stopping in Spokane! And the Seattle date isn't at a time when I can make the drive over there.

Yeah, I'm going to try to get down to the Chicago show. It will be tough, though.

Wish they would jump up to Milwaukee for a night, but I can't expect that :)

Just saw Wintersun live last night in Arizona. Guys, you are in for a treat! If you are debating this over, go.

I saw the show last night in Portland.

Varg was pretty darn good! I was unfamiliar with them as I've been out of the scene for a while, but they sounded good. Very heavy. They reminded me a bit of Turisas as they had the red and black viking warrior type paint on their face and bodies. They're worth checking out.

Wintersun was fricking amazing! Jari was awesome! He sounded great and his guirtar playing was awesome. The band played a great set as there was a good mix between both albums. If you're a big fan of the first album you're in for a treat as I believe they played at least 6 of the 8 tracks from that album. Wintersun was definitely the stars of the show.

Eluveitie was the headliner and they were alright. I saw them on Paganfest a few years ago and thought they were better back then. Eluveitie played their most recent album from start to finish (as was mentioned during the set), and the gal the plays the hurdy-gurdy had multiple songs where she performed much of the vocals. She did not sound that good either. The band sounded pretty good but I thought they were better the last time I saw them. I bailed from the show with about 20 minutes left in their set.

The venue was packed, but after Wintersun played the venue cleared out a bit so it was obvious that a good portion of the group was only their for Wintersun. In my opinion Wintersun should have been the headliner for this tour as they played a far superior set and based on reactions from the crowd they were the band people came to see. Overall it was good show. Definitely worth seeing for sure.

Went to the Chicago show a couple weeks ago. Varg was a good opener, got everyone pumped even though no one knew who the hell they were. Wintersun was pretty damn good too, didn't care for the stuff off of Time though. I have been putting off checking that out and from what I heard live I'm in no hurry to give it a listen. The stuff off of the self-titled sounded awesome though. Eluveitie definitely stole the show though. Originally I didn't like Helvetios, but hearing that stuff live was great especially since The Bottom Lounge has stepped up their game as far as sound goes. Now if we could have gotten the sound from last week along with the setlist they played in February that would have been amazing.
