Stuff similar to this:

I know this might be the wrong place to ask this kind of thing but any recommendations would be welcome.

check in the "hardcore" thread. This one's come up a bit, and I've talked about it a bit.

Bands like Nails -

Mind Eraser, especially The Prodigal Son Brings Death. They're the first band I know of that took that kinda Entombed/Incantation approach to power violence.

Hatred Surge, anything after their LP Deconstruct
Black Breath, although a bit more punky
Gaza
The Secret

I would say to look at this thread, plenty of stuff to check out: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=89576

Would recommend Creatures, Harms Way, Ringworm, Pulling Teeth, among others.

Thing is, Suicide Silence actually are more sonically massive than a good 95% of all the death metal bands in the Archives! Not metal, sure, but definitely a lot more brutal.

Early Graves, Young and in the Way.

Not exactly LIKE Nails, but you'll definitely enjoy these bands if you enjoy Nails.

Advent has a similar guitar tone and misanthropic style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ussExJSeDW0
Maybe this is super obvious, but you know that Nail's guitarist Todd Jones played in Terror, right? That's about as legendary as it gets: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O_Cd9a_Wu0
Sonically, Xibalba is a lot more sludgy than grindy, but most fans of Nails also love them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjQ54jngJxo
Also gonna randomly throw out Thick as Blood cause they cool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvS0WKLTxCs

Really loving most of these recommendations, guys, especially Creatures and Xibalba, thanks a ton. Not liking Thick As Blood or Terror much though.

If you like Xibalba checkout Weekend Nachos, they were doing the whole hardcore/pv downtuned to oblivion thing before those guys hit southern lord.

Unforgivable's still the best bro-down beat-down album around in my book

This is the type of stuff I listen to usually. Xibalba has been my favorite band since I first heard them. The "Cold" music video is everything that is good about music.

No Zodiac is a band from Chicago that's definitely worth giving a shot. At least one of those dudes are big Cephalotripsy/Devourment fans and it shows a lot in their music.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eq8nv2h1ew
Their merch is sick, too. They have a pre-order bundle with a ski mask, I am buying the FUCK out of it.
Warhound is another band from Chicago, emotionally numb, bitter lyrics and dual voclists? Yes please.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpCAFMDl3T4
World of Pain is the shit. The album ends with a dude doing his best Duke Nukem impersonation and saying "babes, guns, steroids, and heavy metal, sounds like my kinda party". Very advanced-level shit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yppO1CpNrQ
I could go on forever. Other bands I'd recommend include Rotting Out, Alpha & Omega, Ruckus, Twitching Tongues (feat members of Nails, Ruckus, Creatures, and Alpha & Omega), Black Breath, The Secret, and Trap Them.

Damn, I didn't know the new No Zodiac album was out already. It's fucking sweet! It's got a bunch of death metal riffs (and a death metal album cover) but it's not really deathcore. Just sweet hardcore with lots of DM riffs haha. Wish I had gotten that ski mask preorder package.
