^ I don't have enough space for them sadly, and I might be moving so taking 550+ jewelcases with me is not an option.

The Smashing Pumpkins-Mellon Collie And The Infinite Saddness

This is the 2012, 4x180g LP and 2 book box set reissue.

I am very, very, very stoked to have what I consider to be the greatest non-metal album of all time (if not the overall greatest album of all time-it would be on an extremely short list) on vinyl. Can't wait to blast this one!

I will agree with you on this one. Thru the Eyes of Ruby is probably my favorite song ever written. As good as the music can get imo.

On my weekly trip to the record store, this week I actually found something!

Image

It's some obscure united states death metal and one classic! I don't even know a single one of these death metal bands.

Abhorrence - Ascension
Toxik - World Circus
Corpsevomit - Bastards of the Forever Filth
Nyctophobic - "Insects"
Nasferatu - For the Blood is Life

Definitely some of the coolest stuff I've ever purchased from that place since my Vio-lence - Eternal nightmare and rigor mortis LPs. They were all 1 dollar a piece! I wish there were like 100 of these kind of tapes!

I also picked up Summoning - Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame. I also ordered Voivod - Nothingface from the same record store.

- Stuff I saw, but wasn't sure about, yet may rethink getting:

Venom - Welcome to hell (first press, but booklet is trashy)
Venom - At War With Satan (on vinyl)
Suffocation - Souls to deny (among other recent suffocation albums)
Summoning - Oathbound
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Immolation - Close to a World Below.
Among other stuff I saw on the shelves... mostly big name, common stuff that's likely to be found in a store.

Some more non metal cds I got in the past few days, some Various artists compilations, some obscure krautrock, 2 noise albums, a neofolk album, some weird experimental stuff like nurse with wound and throbbing gristle, and a few others. (Including one I didn't even buy, the Picadilly Line one, the seller sent me the wrong cd by accident). Also got Autechre- Confield (not pictured) Still have another 40 or cds off amazon that I bought a few days ago that didn't arrive yet.

Took a quick trip to the record store:

Vinyl:
Ozzy Ozbourne - Diary of a Madman
First pressing, not that it really matters. It was cheap and didn't have any scratches, but the jacket looks like it's been through hell.

Cassette:
Carcass - Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious
Unopened first reissue from 1995. Hard to go wrong with Carcass.
Devastation - Signs of Life
I had never even heard of this band before tonight. Bought it on a whim for $2.95, and am very happy I bought it. Fucking awesome!

Non-metal:
Won't get me any cred here, but: a Waylon Jennings best of on vinyl that had a bizarre illustrated portrait of him on the cover. Sounds good though.

What's a good place to get used music besides discogs, ebay, amazon, and occasionally gemm.com? I understand that sometimes labels have lots of new releases, which is occasionally helpful, but often can't useful for more than 1 or 2 things at once. I've bought most of my music from either my local record store or ebay and amazon, 3rd most from discogs, and I've only ever ordered 2 things from gemm.com. Most of the time used things are just too pricey for me though.

I don't go to shows, and I've never heard of record/cd fairs. I do go to local record stores, which are only partially helpful for the common stuff, and occasionally some nice LPs. I've never bought something from metal archives.

That was released by Pest Productions, it seems to still be available from them: http://website.pest666.com/pest059.html

Well, this makes me a little uncomfortable. I tried out ordering a CD from Pest Productions. That was the 18th of November when I placed my order. It hasn't arrived and my email I sent to them hasn't been answered. :/ I thought I was taking a chance.

Yep though the iron maiden album was actually $8.99. I am almost got kill em all instead of master of puppets. Hard choice. But decided to buy it next time i go back to dimples. And the anthrax album i couldn't pass up. So cheap for a good album.

fuck that's expensive, and they aren't originals are they? just repressed/reissued, the maiden is a reissue and remastered too, right?
or are they new? i'm a bit of a 'purist' when it comes to originals etc ha ha ha i kind of annoy myself if i'm honest, but that's me, i have to have originals :nods:
