So I'm actually planning on making it for this festival, considering it is known to be more economical than most of the euro-festivals.
For those of you who don't know the details. I'm listing them below:

How did Whitechapel get a spot with all these bands?

Haha yeah, not a fan of them. But BA aims to appeal to all kinds of fans.

Three bands added today: Behemoth, Overkill and Vried.

I've been there three times now I think, great fun. Cheap beer, cheap and horrendous food, great atmosphere in the beer tents - not so much in the camping area. Some logistical annoyances, especially when you check in to get your wristband - mainly long lines because they only have a couple of people to check tickets/hand out wristbands. Great fun and hardcore moshing (not as in brutal bros-moshing and karate chops but hardcore as in intense). Bring your own toilet paper, be prepared to ruin your butthole shitting out the crappy food, but no biggie. The worst thing is that they are very bad at announcing changes to the running order, it doesn't happen a lot but I missed Ahab a few years back because nobody told us they were moved from around 23.00 to 19.00 in the evening. Sound is great, people are fun and you can get very, very drunk for very, very little money. I might go to Neurotic this year instead because of the line up, but I love BA for atmosphere, international friends that come back year after year and the prices.

^ A friend was there last year and he said the exact same thing about it being cheap and how much fun it was etc. I really didn't know about the food haha. I'll definitely be prepared for that if I can make it. I see what you mean about Neurotic's lineup. I really hope Carcass gets added to BA as well. Thanks for the tips man.

No problem, it's a great festival! Back when I reviewed stuff for rockfreaks.net I wrote a bit about my first time there.. http://www.rockfreaks.net/features/113

Just ask if you have any specific Qs.

Also: Remember to bring a flashlight! I haven't brought one yet, but really missed it the last couple years.

I just read it. Pretty cool. Regarding the flashlight, I'll have it in my EDC for sure.

I'll get back to you when it comes to specific queries, but that won't be until we're like few months away. Thanks!

I'll be there next year! Can't wait, the line up is great so far. This will be my second time after 2010. The line up so far is a lot better than Hellfest's is, I reckon. I'm down to meet up with some MA-ers!

^ Haha yeah, it is already much better than the Hellfest lineup. 3 more bands added today - Anthrax, As I Lay Dying and Dr. Living Dead.

Pretty stoked to see Dr. Living Dead on the lineup. Over this past year, I've really gotten into this band, thrash/crossover music for those who don't know about them.

The line up doesn't do anything for me, I must say. Apart from maybe Nachtmystium and maybe Marduk, there's nothing I want to see right now.

Yeah I can imagine if you've already seen most of the bands and many are past their prime.

Anywho, more bands added - Fear Factory, Cult of Luna and Coffins.
Stoked to see Coffins on this list.

Rotten Sound are releasing a new album this January. Pretty stoked for that.

Yeah I know, but in this case it's only 5 or 6 songs, which should be something like 10 minutes give or take. Hell, it's new RS. :)

New bands added - Opeth, Dying Fetus and Antropofagus.

Antropofagus sounds very intriguing. I'll check them out.

Suffocation, D.R.I and Alcest added.

More big names. I don't know how many more bands will feature on the roster. Anyway, I hope I get a new job soon. I need to save up more money to make it for this festival.

My hunch turned out to be right.
CARCASS added to the bill! This is huge. Ensiferum and Sylosis are also new additions to the bill.

I know. But I'm afraid Frank Mullen won't be touring with Suffocation...we'll have to wait for an official statement from the band.

According to the Brutal Assault website the show will include Frank! Such great news, I've been waiting forever to see Suffocation. Man, this line up is simply unbeatable. They could stop announcing bands right now and I'd be more than satisfied.

Oh yeah? That's brilliant then. I was just going with the assumption that he opted out of touring for most of last year. But I know what you mean about the lineup

Killing Joke, Belphegor and Devildriver added to the bill.

This lineup is becoming quite diverse. Killing Joke would be quite awesome to see live.

It's good to have some crap bands or else the conflictions would be terrible. I know there will already be conflictions that will tear my soul apart, such is the way of festivals.

Nice, I'm perfectly content with the line up right now (it actually greatly exceeds my expectations) so everything from here on is just bonus.

New bands to the lineup (added a while ago)
Katalepsy, Pro-Pain and Brotherhood of the Lake

Unfortunately, I'm not going be able to make it this year :ugh: One major reason is that I got diagnosed with lymphoma (last month) and I will have to undergo a 6 month chemo treatment. Oh well, maybe next year.
