Hi. I've checked FAQ and browse through the message board, but cannot find anything related...

I would like to add info related to Equinox Productions label, which released few albums Sorath, Unclean and Mythopoeia bands from Czech Rep. How should I do it? I have found how to add band, album, update additional notes, but nothing related to adding label itself.

Sorry if the question is already answered.

Thanks in advance

When you add or edit an album, you can select a label to attach to the album; if the label is not present in the database you can add it.

I ran into this problem myself. I had to add the label Niflheim Records, as their only release was a re-release of a Vorgum album, and I needed to reference it in the additional notes. But there was no way to add it other than to unmark the release as "self-released", add the label, and then re-mark the release as self-released. So now Niflheim records is kind of an "orphan", since no releases or bands link to it.

It's not a big deal since this situation occurs very rarely, just posting this as a reference in case anybody else runs into this problem.

There is literally zero point in adding orphan labels, as they will automatically get purged...

Wait, in cases such as this, you probably shouldn't have added the label and just hand-typed it into the additional notes. If someone wanted to know more about the label, they could use Google ...

I've deleted that orphan label.

There's a reason adding labels only works that way, people.

Can you fucking stop deleting the labels that I am adding.
I made an overhaul of this page:
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Inm ... ldes/43405
and had a label that co-released stuff in the add notes of several releases. The MA software does not support it ...

Quote:
Also released on tape by (#invalid label link ID#), limited to 198 handnumbered tapes. This release is a co-production with Donnerberg Rex.

Co-release ... all stuff had detailed information in the add notes of the label.

All for nothing ... as usual. All the research ... nothing ... gfy.

gone:

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/In ... cht/161577
http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/In ... ten/106485
http://www.metal-archives.com/labels/Do ... g_Rex/1691
etc.

Multiple labels for one band/release are an upcoming feature. Until then I just wouldn't add that kind of orphans, problem solved.

Oh, okay. I didn't know that they were auto-deleted. Is there any plan in the future for albums to support multiple labels (e.g. for re-releases)?

[Edit] Damn, Azmodes beat me, and not only that, he answered my question! Thanks man!

It seems I just didn't allowed to do anything there because of ranks system, points, etc. Only add lyrics for the time being. So, forget than.
Anyway, thanks to all for answers.

If you add new data -for example a new release- (which you can do) you can also add a new label for that release (make sure you don't create a duplicate, though). But with your current rank you cannot change existing data. See here for more info: http://www.metal-archives.com/content/h ... #tab_ranks
