Hey guys, been away for a long while, but in the time I was out I've gotten an EP recorded with my now-former black/thrash band Durvasag. Just looking for some feedback on the songs, production, some tips, things you like/don't like (the drums are a big issue for me, for example). Questions/comments welcome; let me know! It would also be great if someone wrote a review on the metal-arhives too!

I don't know about the vocals, although here and there they remind me of Aura Noir. Instrumentation isn't bad at all, I could get into something like this with a better mix - I'd recommend dropping the vocals down in the mix, as the patterns and lyrics aren't particularly interesting.

Any suggestions for improving vocal lines? Examples? Any examples for lyrics?

The final mix isn't done yet; this is just a rough mix, hence promo.

Maybe I can try to put these into my review schedule. If/whenever I review them, I'll send you the link to them.

For my money, just something a bit more, I dunno - interesting! Haha, I know that sounds weird. But from what I can gather, the lyrics are pretty stock-standard stuff, I can make out bits and pieces about virgins and sacrifices, why not try something new? Something that isn't as touched upon in this genre.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'll be sure to let the producer know that the vocal mix may be too high. As for vocals, I'll be sure to write some more in the future. How is everythign else production wise? Good tone? This is our first release with pro-recorded drums.

everything else sounded good and proper, just the vocals were drowning everything out.

I can definitely hear the thrash elements here, not quite as black as I'd thought but an entirely solid song. The vocals are strong and well done, they're just a tad too loud.
