Hearing Discharge's Grave New World for the first time. What the fuck? It's glam metal. Decent glam metal even. Wtf? It's like if Diamond Head would've gone speed metal after Borrowed Time.

The song is okay, I think it drags a little. But that artwork is awful in every possible manner.

My favourite youtuber was deleted due to copyright violations. That guy's channel was a goldmine of doom metal. I probably wouldn't have even gotten into doom if it wasn't for him.

If you need a really good youtube account that posts a ton of doom I urge you to go to ObeyTheRiff's page. It's run by the same guy who owns the Stonberobixx website (formerly a blog), so it's quality stuff.

I'm afflicted with the same pain. I've been on the 'tube since 06 and damn I had favorited many videos since then. I realized that many went missing when I wanted to go down memory lane to see the stuff I bookmarked then.

I think I just wrote my most intimate review....on Triarchy of the Lost Lovers....I almost feel like it may not get accepted because it might sound too abstract...but it didn't seem fair to do it any other way.

I just read that the German police officer chief who beat up a (tied) 15 year old so bad that he broke one of his teeth gets 11 months on probation. Why 11 months you ask? Because after 1 year he can't be a policeman anymore. Hilarious. :puke:

Hey guys. I don't think this is thread worthy, so here I am. I know some members in this forum are well versed in several languages, so I'd like your input. Anyone know any strong Latin-Spanish or Latin-English (and vice versa, of course) dictionaries? I'm thinking of getting one. Also, a Portuguese-Spanish dictionary would be nice as well. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

This one is a standard for beginners/intermediate students of Latin. I used it throughout high school and it won't break the bank. That being said, it's the most straightforward and succinctly compiled dictionary you can get for the money. If you're looking for something that assumes you have a little more knowledge, try This one However, it is hardcover, so it may be a chore to carry around! But these are both excellent and cheap dictionaries.

I can't say much about Spanish to Latin though, so sorry man :[

Both seem to be exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you so much, man.

I should write music reviews again. Yes, I should definitely do that. Also, I should try to join the 'zine for which I wrote years ago again. Yes, I should definitely do that. I will have to crawl deep into my former chief editor's arse for this, though. Yes, I will definitely have to do that.

What exactly is in it for you, in terms of contributing to a zine? I've been curious about writing for 'zines and such, but I'm not sure if anyone buys and looks at 'zines anymore. E-zines seem more practical, as I don't think much of anything in the future will be available on physical media. Bummer though.

Does anyone else on the board have a MagicCrap (MagicJack) by any chance? I need to know that someone else on this entire planet has experienced the absurdity of a telephone service provider that doesn't have an IT call center. Worst piece of informercial-driven garbage ever; my mother has two and they've both broken so far, and (in)conveniently are both out of operation right now.

Well, nothing at all, really, except of course free promotional material. It's quite a small 'zine, although its renownedness in Germany is relatively large for an "underground" publication covering mostly black metal; it started as an online magazine, but during the last years (after my departure) has evolved into a full-fledged print-publication.

My primary reason to rejoin staff is the sheer satisfaction gained from writing reviews, the laborous involvement with a piece of music which is rewarding even if you hate its guts, and my personal ideal to exert a, for lack of a better word, positive influence on the reader's opinions on the records I review.

Grave New World is a very good album. It's solid, well executed Heavy Metal. That shows us that those guys mastered their craft. Even Cal singing like a mixture of an angry lady and a cat that was ran over by a truck sounds cool.

I agree. I instantly loved it, but it is so unlike anything I would've expected (I expected something at least slightly like hardcore/d-beat). Must've pissed off a lot of fans back then.

I saw Metalion: The Slayer Mag Diaries by Jon Kristiansen, at my local record store earlier today. It was on my mind for the next half of the day, sort of. So I went back to the store to actually look through it. I was interested in looking through it except I already know most of the bands in it. Although it would be cool just to read through the zine, even if it is about a lot of bands I already know. So I left it there and decided I needed more time to think about if I wanted to buy it or not. Does anyone here have any opinion about?

I guess what i'm trying to say is that i'm interested in getting into some metal literature and I want to know if this is a good place to start. I also saw tom G. Warrior's Only Death is Real, there. That's probably more literature based than the Slayer mag book. Has anyone read either of these books?

For fuck sake, it's been bothering me that my thread got locked! Not because it got locked (it didn't take very long to make), but because of why it was locked. In the thread, I meant that it was ironic that I was just mentioning a book had too many bands I already knew, then I can't think of a band to compare timeghoul to! Not that I was too good for the shopkeeper! Jeez! I don't want people thinking i'm full of myself. Anyways, I apologize if that thread was inappropriate.
