If I actually had any money I'd have that copy of Death after life by impaled, great album. Been an age since I've heard it

Some metalhead employee at a record store I frequent (lately just once a week to inspect the vinyl section) directed me to it and told me it was really good. I dunno if I really care for it, I kinda don't mind owning it because it's a hell of a lot more unique than some black sabbath reissue or throneum. Not that I don't like black sabbath. It was just a waste of ten dollars because I don't need to own it on CD. I used to think throneum were really cool for some reason.

Only re-issues are real. Fuck anything limited or first press and owning something because it's unique. The fascination some people have with that stuff is dumb as shit. All collectors must die!

From the standpoint of myself, who's always excited about some underrated albums, only to find out that they cost a ridiculous amount of money on ebay because it's limited or old, I completely agree. All collectors must die! Besides me. :-P

If it is more than 15 bucks (€) it isn't worth buying. But if you get a first press for that money there's nothing wrong with being proud of it. I don't own any notable first presses though. No point hunting for them.

Yeah, I'd place my limit around there as well.

Being proud is always wrong though.

Actually just did one of the first all-nighters I've ever gone through, taking an early flight back to California for the Thanksgiving holiday. Unfortunately I never enjoyed any hallucinations (as it would make this post more interesting and I haven't smoked pot in about a year and a half), just passed out in all my clothes for 15 hours when i finally made contact with a bed upon reaching the other side of the country. Flight sucked hard, but my good friends Evoken, Esoteric, Amorphis, Thou Shalt Suffer, and Rotting Christ were there to help me through the ordeal.

As for you guys and your cd-selling: don't worry, you'll learn to not buy bad music someday. When you're older, wiser, and eventually lose the taste for mercury as a whiskey chaser.
We all go through that phase.

Some guy in chat asked me something like - he saw a pink bush rob a bank on a pogo stick and he wanted to know if I've seen him so he can contact the eskimo giraffes or something. I told him it would be in his best interest to jump off a bridge. I dunno what's wrong with me tonight, but sorry I said that to whoever you are I said it to. I feel like kind of a prick.

Does that mean he's Magneto because he attracts metal?

Thanksgiving tomorrow. And since it's the day before my birthday, everyone in my family is going to make awkward attempts at conversation with me. God, I hate holidays.

Thanksgiving tomorrow. I'm thankful that unlike the last five times since August that I've seen my extended family, it's not for a funeral.

Same here. Atleast my Mom's side of the family is not going to come over (I hate most of my cousins on her side since they do bad things).

They're 31 days away. Surprised that I haven't heard anybody talking about the supposed 2012 apocalypse. Everybody was joking about it early in the year, but nobody mentions it now that its actually approaching.

Everyone can joke about death when it's just a distant vision somewhere in the future, but now that it's a month away and completely certain to happen, everyone just think that it's better not to draw the wrath of god (or whatever) on themselves for extra cruel punishment.

Fuck, Discovery found Aliens. They are hostile. The Mayans knew it. Everything makes sense now.

And we can't even have Twinkies when we shoot them in the dick (/corresponding reproductive organs).

Classic. We've got a piece of remote controlled machinery on another planet and we use it to take pictures of it/our self.

In all seriousness though, I do remain optimistic that the results will be important in some way and this isn't just NASA blowing smoke out of their arses. :)

So, Tony is pretty nice in person. Plenty of beer and board games to around. He even let me use his mattress because it is the most comfortable place to sleep. Gets a bit crowded with all three of us though...

Anyone remember the desert megaphone? I imagine that being the kind of sounds such an object could produce.

Edit:
As a European: The forum suddenly being deserted like that feels kind of uncanny...
Like an empty factory building filled with obscuring twilight where there is no soul but you present and yet you imagine hearing the ghostly, fading echoes of voices, words that seem to have been spoken in a time long past. You try to understand what they say but the sound of your breath alone renders them unintelligable. Maybe it was just the wind and your mind, deprived of sleep and human contact, is making things up. But then... for a moment you could swear you heard steps coming from the stairwell. You want to shout, ask if someone's there but the creeping fear that you somehow managed to ignore up to this moment now paralizes your vocals cords. Swallowing. Your eyes search for where you entered the place. What are you even afraid of? You try to remember - when was the last time you met another human? Shouldn't you be looking for them, shouldn't they be something you are hoping to find? Yet your curiosity fights against an almost crippling instinct to leave as fast as possible. You realize that you didn't move at all for over a minute now. Slowly you set one foot in front of the other, still undecided where to go. Then you hear the steps again and they seem a great deal closer now.

What I'm trying to say here is that I'm fucking bored.

Everybody else on the board is probably going out and having fun. Right now I'm 8 hours into my physics lab write-up and I'll probably be another hour and a half until I'm done. On the plus side - it's my last physics lab of the semester!

I'm in the same boat, man. Currently working on a big paper to the tune of Death's Leprosy album and possibly Septic Flesh's Mystic Places of Dawn if the motivation keeps up, next...

Strange to hear, man. I finished my physics exam about 3 hours ago which means no more physics and no more uni for the year. I think this calls for a week of consecutive boozing! :)
