BTW, I've tried to search for forum rules but couldn't find any. Are there any guidelines written somewhere?

I'm 20 minutes from downtown Montreal, yeah. This is a necessary read: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=64573

So I've been lurking a fair bit for the past month ago, figured "Fuck it" and decided to come on in. I'm generally terrible at introductions, but well, I'll give most types of metal a shot, as long as it's not NSBM or something like Waking the Cadaver. I'm mainly into Fear Factory, KMFDM, and then really whatever I'm into at the moment (I've been on a bit of a symphonic/gothic kick lately, as well as a bit of a Liv Kristine kick).

Anywho, I think I may stick around.

Hi guys, i've always checked out this forum since the last year, well today i've decided to write a short message of presentation. Honestly i'm not very good with this kind of stuff, but i will try. I'm Certain Death (yeah i know, my nickname sounds really terrifying), i'm a 20 years old handsome boy from Italy and i think that i listen to too many different kinds of music to write a list of my favorite bands. I have an unexplicable obsession for Pantera, Phil Anselmo and his thousands of side projects. Cheers.

Hey fuckers, been on the MA for a couple years but only recently I have decided to check out the forum. I'm 18 and I currently live in Ontario but I hope I can get out soon because I've spenty entire life here and I need something a bit more exciting. Still in high school, should have graduated but I failed a fuckload of courses because of drinking, drugs, depression and no motivation so I had to return for a full year sentence which I am still serving. I enjoy writing and drinking and I hope to some day actually have something to contribute to the MA. I also hope to actually learn an instrument some day. Fuck the recorder and fuck the clarinet.

Oh, I am also really into Warhammer 40k so if any cool kids wanna shoot the shit about Warhammer fluff with me send me a message.

Hey guys, I decided to register here because my favorite forum has closed, so I went here. I'm 20, living in germany and studying right now. There's not really a genre in metal music which I don't like, but my favorites are folk/pagan/viking stuff and thrash metal. Besides that, I enjoy some Punk, Hardcore, Jazz and even a bit pop music. Pretty extensive, I think. That's because I'm open minded for music, not denying any genre because someone said it's MBS.

So long.

My name is Kamil, and I live in hipster-infested Brooklyn, NY. Mostly into black metal: Shining (not really bm, but whatever), Mgła, Taake, Craft, Leviathan, Xasthur, etc. Opeth, Katatonia, Tiamat, also to name a few. Yes, I am Polish, and no I don't like behemoth. I guess that's all I have to say really.

Hello, I'm Von Jugel. Name has nothing to do with the band "Von". I'm 35 and from Chicago. I DJ sporadically when I get the chance. I used to post on Hellride under the name Major Briggs. I listen to a wide variety of music, but I'd say my focus for my collection is mostly on 70's and 80's stuff. Like to find out about new bands though, and that's why I'm here. I'll be sure to update my new buys on the Last Album Purchase thread. Nice to meet y'all!

I've enjoyed reading this site's reviews for about a year or so now so i decided to finally join and help out a little with releases and stuff, join the community and basically give all my knowledge of metal. I'm a fan of most metal genres (mainly thrash), also dig most 80s & 90s alternative music.

Hello, Therizinosaur here. Been reading the site since just before 2.0 but only recently decided to register an account. My favorite genres of Metal are: Black, Viking, Doom, Power, Sludge, and Industrial, as well as some Death, Classic, Folk, and Progressive. I first got into Metal in 9th grade (currently in college) via Metallica, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden, and things just took off from there.

My Favorite Metal Bands are as follows (subject to change):
1. Burzum (Hvis Lyset Tar Oss)
2. Nokturnal Mortum (Goat Horns)
3. Manowar (The Triumph of Steel)
4. Godflesh (Slavestate)
5. Pentagram (Day of Reckoning)
6. Machine Head (Unto the Locust)
7. Sigh (Hangman's Hymn)
8. Graveland (Following the Voice of Blood)
9. Sodom (In the Sign of Evil)
10. Judas Priest (Defenders of the Faith)
11. Katatonia (Dance of December Souls)
12. Kreator (Pleasure to Kill)

In addition to Metal, I like Progressive rock, Classical music, Classic rock, and some Industrial, Post-Punk, Ambient, Hardcore, and Jazz. My interests outside of music are tabletop gaming (collecting and playing), anime, Fantasy and Classic literature, classic sitcoms, paleontology, biology, history, mythology, physics, rationalism/skepticism, and most recently, linguistics. I personally hate math, chemistry, religion, art douchebags, New Age, Rap, western comics, sports, Modern Pop, Country, Dubstep (though I sometimes listen to it in a so-bad-it's-good way) and pretty much anything on the radio nowadays (save classic rock). I frequently visit this site, Wikipedia, TV Tropes, Cracked, RPG Net, Prog Archives, Youtube, and many anime/manga sites.

For the record, my person favorite all-time band is Jethro Tull.

Awesome. I absolutely love air hockey and I would love to own a table one day.

I don't mind Cracked but it gets tiring keeping up with all the new articles, at least for me.

Welcome to the forum, mate.

Hello @ all, I'm a new member on here (obviously) and based in Germany. I mainly listen to Death Metal. Some of my favourite bands are:

Old school: Suffocation, Malevolent Creation, Immolation, Autopsy, Deceased, Monstrosity, Pungent Stench plus tons more...
New(er) school: Gorgasm, Guttural Secrete, Wormed, Defeated Sanity, Malignancy...you get the picture.

Aside from that, I listen to a lot of other stuff...too lazy to mention though atm.:)

I'm looking forward to posting here.

Cheers!

New guy here. I'm from New Orleans, LA, but in 5 days I'll be flying to Bristol UK to live with my 3 month old son, wife (who is originally from the UK), and 2 cats. Big changes in my life, so why not join the forum I've lurked on for awhile. I look forward to being more informed in my metal.
