I read on the net someone describing the Dead Kennedy's sound as "Spy Music On Meth", I instantly knew what they meant, and started wondering if there are any other bands or artists that play a similar style. I'm not even necessarily referring to punk music, but any music that uses chord progressions that sound like something out of an old spy movie, or even trying to intentionally emulate that sound. I remember hearing a "spy movie" type song a while ago with a female vocalist singing spasticly over it all, I remember loving it but could never find out what it was.

So if anyone has any "spy music" type stuff, throwing me a rec or two would be great.

Heres some of what I'm talking about, you can kind of get my drift
(this isnt confined to any genre)

(and a side request, any music that sounds like old alien movie soundtracks would be cool too)

This may be kind of iffy, as there aren't any "on meth" moments, but you could give the Italian band Calibro 35 a try. They basically recreate 70's crime film music, but some of it has the spyish aspects you're looking for.

My favorite song (though admittedly not exactly in the "spy" realm):

yes I guess when I used the word "spy movie" I meant it to be interchangeable with "crime movie"

Thanks for the rec, listening now, these guys are pretty great.

Yeah, there's tons of that stuff out there. 45 Grave are one of the bigger ones.

"If The World" by Guns N' Roses was written as a theme to a (nonexistent) Bond movie, and has that exotic Bond feel to it.

I don't know how much you're into horror flicks, but this is the mothership of all alien themes:

Also, I always found that the chorus to the Phenomena theme sounded rather martian (starts at around 1:40):

Both. Their first album is almost all covers, with only one or two original tracks. The next two are pretty much all originals, with some covers scattered about.
