I did a thread awhile back looking for help with finding "blackened deathcore" stuff and found quite a few great bands through it. the link I posted reminds me of that particular sound a lot. preferrably minimal to no gimmicky symphonic crap like Make them suffer.

I just learned about about these guys today, but hey, you may as well try X-box Murder: http://x-boxmurder.bandcamp.com/

Just when I think i've ran out of good melodic-tinged deathcore with some blackend influences... that was awesome, downloading it now. The name is definitely misleading, but the music is pretty awesome, I liked that last song... almost sounded like they had some mongolian instrument in the background but I have no idea what the hell those things are called.

I thought it was pretty good, though it seems like they abandoned some of the technical riffing on The Adversary in favor of more djent-style breakdowns... one reviewer called the Reign of Darkness single "Emmurecore" which may be a bit harsh, haha. Still, I'm enjoying it. What do you think?

Amia Venera Landscape, a six-piece Italian post-metal/metalcore band that I really love. Their vocals remind me a lot of August Burns Red; very angry and aggressive and that's just how I love my vocals.

i only listened to it once but i heard its a grower but i am enjoying it so far with the one listen while i liked their first album this one so far sounds a bit heavier and a bit more experimental(not too much on either front but enough to make me like it more) lol that is a bit harsh but some bits of it does sound a bit Emmucoreish :P but i am still enjoying it listening to it for a second time just now, and there is plenty of groove which i enjoy

Really didn't like it. The Adversary is my favourite deathcore album and the new one was a massive disappointment, though not as much as the new Whitechapel album.

A quick question here, wich core bands do you know that play in the format of a trio? Only guitar, bass and drums, but most importantly, that records its music as a trio, no riff with 3rd/5th/7th armonies, no programmed keys or anything like that.

I also got a question. I might put this in the wrong topic, but here I go anyway.
I have seen on different sites that believes that Ovid's Withering is in a certain genre, but not a single one of them says the same genre. I think they're symphonic deathcore, but I might be wrong.
Here's some examples of how they sounds like:

Yeah, I'd call them symphonic deathcore, with a few prog/djent moments thrown in. If you know them then you probably know 7 Horns 7 Eyes as well, which is one of the best prog metal bands out there right now that I would heartily recommend everyone on this board to check out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BiTFadkhU4

Also, Vanguard was a big inspiration for both bands I believe: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Vanguard/88694

7 Horns 7 Eyes is awesome. They're coming to my town in february I believe.

All of you prog/tech/melodic deathcore lovers absolutely HAVE to check out The HAARP Machine. It's been a LONG time since a band has wowed me like them. Pretty much they're a proggy technical melodic deathcore band. Really complicated guitar work and some pretty awesome drumming. It takes a long time for their music to get old. I think the biggest complaint about them is that they use cleans. They're mostly harshes but there's still enough cleans to not be ignorable. I like them though. Also, the frontman, Abdullah, is middle eastern and as a result has used the Phrygian Dominant scale a healthy amount on the record (for those who don't know that much theory, that means the music will sound somewhat middle eastern in some sections, usually the cleans).

The HAARP Machine - From Vanity to Utility http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGuaTtcKwSc

This song has all of their angles. Faster, techy parts, and softer, proggier parts with cleans. Esoteric Agenda, Lower the Populace, and The Escapist Notion are all songs to pick other than From Vanity to Utility if you want faster, more extreme parts.

The Haarp Machine is pretty damn good! Gonna look into them

Does anybody know any djent/progressive metalcore that has a clean vocalist that sounds like John Arch of Fates Warning? In case you don't know him, he's got a bit of a nasally voice but he's got a great deal of control and is one of my favorite vocalists. I've discovered a few djent bands that have clean chorus which really remind me of him. Mainly Textures and especially this Tesseract track. The singing/melodies from 3:12 to about 4:00 on that last track is exactly what I'm interested in. Can you guys feel the similarities? Got any recommendations? Bonus points for if they have harsh vocals too.

Another singer similar to what I'm looking for is vocalist for Spiral Architect

Definitely reccomend 7 Horns 7 Eyes even though the name is a complete rip off of 7 Angels 7 Plagues.

The HAARP Machine sounds sick as hell.

Anyone hear any news from Ion Dissonance lately? Really dig the style they made with Minus the Herd.

I don't think a single person in this thread has said they like that band, and you're really bad at trolling. Trolls are usually supposed to be funny or at least upset people.

Just discovered Bound By Exile. Really enjoyable stuff in a similar to vein to Ingested, Whitechapel and I even hear a little Devourment influence.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHdrsM9cBGY This track even features the vocalist from Ingested

Ermm, I can listem to some good ol metalcore, but it's really hard to find some original deathcore, so I got another take on the problem.
I liked this song:

So you guys know some original deathcore that DOESN'T sound like this?

~~~~~~~~~
Got into this one:
Sounds pretty much Death Metal to me.
Ok, I see I was not clear enough, I'll try to reformulate. It just really a request.
It a kind of a reverse rec, instead of asking for (good and original) bands that sound like that one, I want the opposite, I want (good and original) that don't sound like it.
Why? Well, apart from some prejudices, deathcore is known amidst metalheads as unoriginal and unimaginative, so I want to pass through that prejudice by actually listening to some original and creative deathcore.
Hi man, I must say I liked all the 4 recs, they sound pretty different amongst themselves and don't are overdone with the breakdowns like the stereotypical deathcore bands. Thanks for the recs!
Here's one for you: Aegaeon. They're a mix of Brutal Deathcore and Atmospheric Deathcore. I have yet to see a band like them. (You have to listen to the entire album and the interlude tracks to really see the atmospheric parts).
Try The Red Chord, they play a weird but very interesting mix of technical deathgrind and deathcore http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XYLiau108E awesome band btw
Indeed I have, I even got their EPs today. Sick as hell. They've recently made a video of the song Sancuary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlbMSIJX3WM
You know about Aversions Crown? I fell in love with their awesome music-/lyricvideo. One of the best I've seen ever! They're deathcore, btw, somewhat similar to Thy Art Is Murder and Aegaeon, if you ask me.
Can anyone recommend any bands that sound like Underoath's "Cries of the Past"? I remember hearing "The Last" off of at the album when I was like 12-13, back in Underoath's hey-day. I hated them, and couldn't believe my ears that "The Last" was so good!
Also, preferably without all of the "I LOVE YOU JESUS" parts.
Also, I've been listening to Darkest Hour lately, who are quite good.
wanted some recommendations of bands with old school death metal influences in their music, and all the songs should not be the same they should have variety, solos will be a plus point.
I will never understand why people despise deathcore/metalcore. It's not all just breakdowns, chugs, and skinny jeans like the shitty overrated bands make it look to be.
So there's two bands I just started listening to so I thought I would mention them here. Last chance to reason is pretty much spacey prog deathcore with heavy keyboard use and some clean vocals:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rxnTPfyoTY. Abiotic is literally just chuggy deathcore with tech riffs added, but it doesn't really matter because it's so good at what it's trying to do:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuz-Rtce6KA
