So foreign aid that goes on Jets and High perfomance cars is tax payers money well spent? Or ends up in Swiss bank accounts or funding civil wars?

I didn't say no to foreign aid, but how about making sure it gets to the people who need it, with maybe the UN distributing it?
I want transparency in how public money is spent and know that it goes where we're assured it will.
Your lucky you weren't born here Napero, this country is very corrupt, and our leaders run it as a corporation.

I once dreamed up a super villain that hurt his enemies with awful puns. I considered maybe that could be me. If it was, Xlxlx would be my sidekick.

...Hey, is "Punisher" taken?

To quote BastardHead; "I give negative fucks".

PS: I do think Cries of the Past is pretty solid though, but that's mostly because it's nothing like their other stuff.

Coincidentally, I'm listening to them right now - Cries of the Past. Just as I'm in the middle of reviewing their full-lengths, they end up like this. I might be the only one here preferring they at least continued for one more album to show that they could come up with a metallic hardcore album of some sort.

So, as I arrived at the Opera House last night for the Grave show I find out my pre-purchased ticket is no longer any good. Why? Since Morbid Angel dropped off the bill, due to not being able to make it across the border, Ticketmaster decided to make all pre-paid tickets null and worthless. I find out that I need to pay $20 to get inside since my ticket is no longer any good. The doorman told me I had to get a refund from the point of purchase... and they decided to announce all this last minute, on the day of the show. They didn't even bother offering to honour my ticket and let me in anyway. From the most sincere depths of my being, Intertia Entertainment, please get fucked in the hardest way possible. That was the last time I'll ever support your already notoriously shitty company with its backwards and underhanded business practices/ethics.

Holy shit, that is lousy. With any luck you enjoyed the show anyway.

Like them quite a bit. Normally hate the association they have of "the metal fans hip hop" like OF, but they manage to be vastly entertaining.

Terrible rapper he's annoying, has pisspoor delivery, and has the vocal ability of a slurred rhinoceros burping. The fact that metalheads are going over to him just because he wears the occasional black metal shirt is laughable.

I saw some band opening for Immolation last night called Forsaken World. They were basically corpse-paint-wearing melodeath death metal with 40% chugga-chugga breakdowns with the odd In Flames/At the Gates riff. In 2007 they would have been the future of metal.

I spent half their set trying to determine whether their singer was male or female (his little tuff of facial hair was disguised by a mic for the most part from where I was standing, hence my confusion). Oh well, Immolation were super. :)

Nice going seeing Immolation live. Would like to see them in Australia at some point.

Some deathcore band named Thy Art Is Murder opened for Fear Factory last week. They were actually pretty good, and the crowd responded positively to them, too.

It's definitely not a conventional drawing of a molecule in any way - I can't see it closely though, could do with a close-up?

So I want to buy a new laptop, mainly for work but with a good processor and graphics card for occasional forays into gaming. Anyone got any thoughts/advice? Good/bad brands or models? I'd like to stay with Windows (for the games mainly) but will probably dual-boot it with Ubuntu as well. Have been saving, and can get cash out of work, so looking to spend up to around £1000...though cheaper would obviously be welcome!

edit: the IT guy at work just recommended Dell, specifically the higher end Latitude models. I like the look of the XPS more though.
also: didn't there use to be a computers thread?

Aye, I had this problem for a brief spell....came from complications from a groin injury when I was hella young. Apparently it's not permanent, and it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad, but it hurts like hell, and can lead to infertility :ugh: but apparently I've got nothing to worry about yet...still. A bad thing to have in the back of your mind.

You can get a decent laptop at around $500, but I wouldn't recommend a Dell. With your price range I would say visit a manufacturer's website and try a "choose your own hardware" method to meet your needs.
