I'm looking for extremely fuzzed out 60s Heavy Rock similar to Coven or Sir Lord Baltimore. Led Zeppelin and the like need not apply.

No, but I've listened to Vincebus Eruptum. Definitely on the right track!

This is from the 70s, but you might enjoy it:

Icecross - Scared

Personally I think they fit squarely into 70s metal, but the archives don't think so.

I wonder why they were removed? I guess the powers that be just listened to Wandering Around and decided they weren't metal (as that song isn't very metal).

Yeah, because the mods and admins only listen to 1 song when they deal with a band. Come on!

If you think this is metal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UG4oZBB ... re=related Well, I'm sorry for your ears, but they're fucked.

Cool band though.

Sounds like 70s doom metal to me... also sounds more metal than 70s Pentagram or Sir Lord Baltimore...

Honestly, as much I like that song, it sounds more Led Zeppelin than Black Sabbath to me...

And then there's stuff like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjv0BXvr ... ure=relmfu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ueIhF-a ... ure=relmfu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zC0vuYs- ... re=related

Comparable to Icecross:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjhZxW0s ... ure=relmfu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HllK2adX ... re=related

I'm not saying these songs aren't metal, what I am saying is the Icecross songs are extremely comparable when it comes to heaviness, however, the Icecross songs are often darker and doomier.

Consider these:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIEISmNq ... re=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7nXWkEmHiU

Anyway, I didn't mean this to turn into an argument that derails the thread, so I'll stop arguing now. If you guys want to get in the last word, go ahead. I was just defending my position.

But I have to ask, what made Icecross accepted into the archives in the first place, if they were later deemed to be not metal?
