I know you guys joke a lot, but didn't want people to get confused, because not everyone can tell if people are serious or not. I tend to get defensive about others getting hurt/confused (though I'm not in the Boy Scouts :-D ).

By the way, There's no way anyone will eat me. Impromptu training will serve me well.

I did find a good custum title for me, if I may be so bold.... his neutralness. A reference to, ofcourse, futurama. http://theinfosphere.org/Neutral_People :-P

Hello, I'm Metal Dan from Canada & I've been into metal for 30 years. It's safe to say I'm a metal lifer. My favorite styles of metal are thrash, death, power, traditional, some black (depends, it has to be "black thrash", "black /death", or "bestial"), melodic death, stoner & doom, grindcore, crust, some punk/hardcore (mainly old school stuff), & hard rock. It can be any style of metal as long as it sounds good to my ears. Not just into metal & all of it's various genres & sub-genres, but I'm a huge music fan. I listen to many styles of music ranging from Slavic Folk Music, electronic (house, trance, ambient drum & bass, jungle, etc...), reggae, pop, R & B, classical, jazz, industrial, (some) goth, 80's New Wave, disco, rock, 50's music, (hardcore & old school) hip-hop/rap, & so on..... Again, whatever sounds good to my ears I like it, doesn't matter what it is. I think it's very important to have an open mind towards any kind of music. Maybe that's why I've been into metal for most of life because I don't get burned out listening to just metal only. The reason why I signed up on this forum because it's cool & look forward in finding new bands to check out. I've been lurking here for a few years here & there, & decided to sign up. Also I do a radio show with my friend Cannibal Cam called Chronic Aggression on sunday nights 10pm - 12am (ET/ Canada) on CFBU 103.7 fm or listen to it online at: http://www.cfbu.ca/ Bands that want their stuff played on air get in touch. Cheers!!! \m/

Hi, I'm Rotkreuz from the United States. I'll be 23 on August 10th. I've been registered for a while, mainly to check on the new albums being released by my favorite bands, and I decided to finally give the forums a try. I mainly like Power Metal, but I listen to just about anything. Anyway, how's your sex life?

hey all! I am Peter and I hail from northern ireland. I am a metal lifer, 33 years a fan of all kinds of noisey tunes. I couldn't give you a list of favourite genres cos as far as i am concerned a good tune is a good tune no matter what sub genre it spawns from :-) I do have a few artists that i follow pretty closely, but at the same time I am always being turned on to new bands by a lot of younger friends who find it cool that someone my age still tries to stay open minded about new music not narrow minded!
At the moment the bands on heavy listening duty are:
Wynterfylleth
waylander
Clutch
Triggerman
Y&T
Hell
Saxon
Rush..

I have been a frequent visitor to the site usually to check reviews of albums I am thinking of purchasing
but i have finally decided to register so I can maybe discover more new stuff and turn people on to some of my
own faves!

Hi, Ville, 25, from Finland here. I've been lurking these forums for almost ten years now, keeping in the shadows and only rarely stirring from my slumber to actually post anything. Somehow, nowadays though I feel this strange urge to be more active in here, putting my two cents on the table regarding the greatest albums I've come across. I've been into underground metal for about ten years now, and only recently I've been giving the more mainstream styles a spin. For example, it was to years ago that I gave a first spin to Megadeth. Strange, you might think. But seeing as my introduction to metal music in general came via Darkthrone's Transilvanian Hunger in high school, which I absolutely detested at first. Life's funny, ain't it. During the winter of '02, I bought Mayhem's DMDS and since then, there's been no looking back. Actually, there's one other important affirming point in that time, and that was to get Inquisition's Unholy Inquisition Rites and Esoteric's Epistemological Despondency from the best distro in Finland, Ahdistuksen aihio, which I always wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking interesting new stuff, be it black-, death- or doom metal. Reliable and efficient. So if mr. AAP is reading this, let it be known that there is at least one person to whose life you've had a profound effect.

I might also add, that I am not getting paid to say the above. :)

Hello, I'm Val, 17, from Brazil. I've been on Encyclopeadia Metallum for more than 5 years, but I've never came to the forums or something. Maybe because I wasn't interested much, or didn't needed the times I've come to the site. I absolutely love black metal, but I also like other genres of music, be them metal or not. Well, that's about it :D

Yo, I'm Daniel (lulzy user name, amirite), and while I've been using this site for a long time this is my first foray into the forums. Lived in Tampa, Florida for most of my life but moved to Maryland a couple years back. I'm 18 and will be starting my freshman year at the University of Maryland later this month. Open to try any music, not just metal. I'm into some more obscure stuff, but my favorites tend to be bigger bands like Mastodon or Opeth. Big Devin Townsend fan as well!

Hi folks, I'm Archeoptrix. (I know it's not spelled properly but I've used it forever, it's old habit by now to just keep it). I've been a metal fanatic ever since I first heard Brujeria when I was 11. I'm 26 now, live in Denver, Colorado. I don't know what else to really say so I'll list 5 random favorite albums:

Pestilence - Testimony of the Ancients
Leviathan - Tentacles of Whorror
Death - Symbolic
The Crown - Deathrace King
D.R.I. - Definition

I kind of have this ongoing goal to try and acquire an album from a metal band in each country of the world (Which Metal Archives has the best list ever). Lately I've found out my girlfriend likes Doom metal (as did she) so I've been trying to find some decent stuff to check out as I've previously never really been into it as a genre on it's own. I checked out Saint Vitus - Born Too Late, Electric Wizard - Dopethrone, and Church of Misery - Minstrel of Mourning for starters. I like most genres of Metal though I'm partial to vocals which don't have a "clean" sound. When not working I'm usually at home cruising Netflix for it's vast goldmine of Asian horror and B-movies. I also like other nerdy crap like video games, comic books, etc. Anyway this is a nice place you folks have here, I've lurked for a bit and just wanted to say "whatup."

I like a lot of those splatter flicks as well though Tokyo Gore Police really seems to be the pinnacle of it all. Meatball Machine, Hell Driver, the Tetsuo movies are all awesome. However my favorites of all time would have to be Kairo (aka Pulse), any of the Grudge flicks, Marebito, Wishing Stairs, Bloody Reunion and Audition. They all kind of vary, Audition is almost an artsy type gore flick. Bloody Reunion is like a slasher mystery, where as Kairo is a more atmospheric ghost story very slow paced but incredibly gloomy which I love. Marebito is a a Lovecraftian inspired movie that was shot in 8 days, really a rough but amazingly beautiful movie, I think at least. Wishing Stairs is pretty close to a good Tales from the Crypt, it's part of a series of related yet not sequential movies about all girl's schools, I really think it's the highlight.

So, ok.

Now that the release party is over and such I can make a more proper introduction.

My name, obviously, is Kevin, and I came here because it was brought up at a band meeting that our band was added to the archives, and wanted to know about editing but I like Metal and I figure I'll stay and putter around the forum from time to time. As such, also, I see no point in a screen name at this time.

I started out as a fan of grunge music and slowly worked my way to the faster darker and heavier, and eventually became a Metalhead. My favorite band is Iron Maiden. I'm also quite fond of Emperor, Bruce Dickinson's solo stuff, The Tea Party (which, admittedly isn't Metal, but I think is a pretty awesome band), Motorhead, old Metallica, old Megadeth (BUT not Dave Mustaine), Type O Negative, and others.

I like quite a bit of non-Metal stuff, regular Rock, the Blues, and Irish Folk.

I've been playing guitar since I was 14 (1995), didn't get particularly good a it until my 20s. I originally wanted to be a bassist and while I am happy to be a guitarist, and love guitar, I also love it when I get to play bass.

My main project is Anarchangel which is a Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band.
I've also recently started an acoustic solo project that focuses on Irish Folk and original stuff that has a Bluesy sort of feel and has sort of tongue in cheek lyrics.
I also sometimes play live guitar for Daniel Ouellette and the Shobijin, which is entirely different from both and I can't really describe.

I live in the Greater Boston Area, and have dual citizenship with the United States and the Republic of Ireland (hence the Irish folk thing). I am a Discordian.

Uh....

I also am nearsighted. Yeah. Nice to meet you guys.
