Excellent news. Thought we wouldn't hear anymore from Summoning after Oath Bound. Glad I'm wrong :)

They guys should exist till' they die...I don't see how these guys can ever break up as long as they're still alive. They don't play live ever, they're a studio band only, they have other jobs and other committments, they release an album or ep whenever they feel like it. They release an album every 5 years now unlike the mid 90s to early 2000s. The members are fairly annoymous even though we know them from other bands. They're holed up in Austria. They could release this slow beautiful music well into their 80s. If I were these guys I'd fucking do it. What's stopping them? Kids? Family reunions? business vacations?

I'm looking forward to hear new stuff by Summoning

I actually didn't know they ever did break up. Explains why I haven't heard anything since Oath Bound. I actually just discovered these guys maybe a year after that dropped and didn't look up the earlier stuff yet. Either way, hopefully this reunion works in favor of quality new material and not one that falls victim to the typical reunion pratfalls I'm seeing way too freakin' much lately.

They didn't break up, they've just been on a very quiet hiatus since Oath Bound with very few updates on their activity, so fans began to speculate. Then, with rumours of Silenius' heart attack, it got pretty scary. So glad we've finally heard something from them again and I hope they update us again soon.

It is to be expected that the new release will see the light of day in the first quarter of 2013 via Napalm Records. Furthermore, they have stated that some of the older Summoning albums will be released on vinyl at the end of 2012.

Looking forward to this eagerly though a bit warily. The last two have been pretty stellar works, but with such a long pause you never know what's coming.

I'm pretty excited for this although I'm only familiar with Let Mortal Heros Sing Your Fame and Oath Bound. Both of which I absolutely love. I need to grab me one of those Oath Bound shirts too!

Awesome news indeed! Hopefully the first 100 copies will be signed and come with a shirt and genuine Orb of Farseeing. That's merch I'd actually buy.

Oh yes! Summoning can do wrong. They're going to set the bar high early for 2013 releases.

New album is drawing very close, very excited.for this one -

27.12.2012Last month we recorded all the guitar riffs for the new album, and Protector recorded already his vocal lines. Silenius will do his vocal parts in the next weeks. We replaced the original intro with a new one (which has a stronger intro feeling), the old one will be transformed into an instrumental track, which maybe will be used as a bonustrack together with the missing song from the othbound session. The new albums will be entitled "Old Mornings Dawn". A one minute teaser is in progress and will be available on the Napalm Records homepage soon.

I used to love Stronghold as a teenager. And then-my-girlfriend also. It's kind of music that's suited for girls, isn't it. Let Mortal... also became my favourite a little later.

Summoning will always have a special place in my heart. Interested to know what way this new record takes.

So. Excited. "Old Mornings Dawn" is a pretty cool/Summoning-esque title. Looking forward to seeing the artwork and tracklisting.
