Does anyone of you have "Tenhi - Saivo" digibook or artbook version. Some amazing art there.

Here's some more of mine.

Through Tears I’ll just Smile 11 by 15 in, digital painting

I’ll stand and smile like everything is ok. Every bit of my being wants to implode.
There is constant disdain that overwhelms me as the memories of you swarm.
I wonder how long I can keep this up. “But as bad as things are we will endure”.

Sever(You) 11 by 15 in, digital painting

For the ones we Trust, wrath builds cutting through all relations.
Suppressing the words that pulse on my tongue I’ll contain the animosity towards you. This is the time when I sever the thoughts…sever the emotions….
sever you.

I recently started studying sculpture and since it won't be too long before I finish my first one already, I bought one of those cheap gesso virgins to practice my painting so I won't ruin my own creation, my very firstborn.
Anyway, here are the results, I would like to know what do you think and how could I improve it if anyone's got tips

Still working on my series of serial killers painted in my own blood, Ted bundy, ed gein and dennis nilsen here. Manson was still my favorite that I did, mostly for the drippiness, but someone bought that from me. Blood works pretty nicely on watercolor paper. I put a few coats of that clear coat shit on top to hopefully discourage it from oxidizing too much more.

Image
Also have begun doing woodburning again, mostly doing ouija boards. This one was all done freehand so its a bit wonky, esp the skull on the right, but I'm working on a better one. I don't believe in the supernatural but I think ouija boards make nice decorations.

Alright. After I fucked up and humiliated myself in the other thread, it's time to maybe show my work in the appropriate thread.

PS/Painter. Had to ref a whole lot with this, since I was having a lot of trouble. Still turned out good though.

There is some fantastic stuff in this thread. I hope everyone will continue to update with their newest works. For now here are a couple of digital works of mine. Both of these were done with an intuos3 6x8.

Eddard Stark - Game of Thrones - 2012

Admittedly this one is rough, I might do more with it later.

Spoiler: show

Mike - Breaking Bad - 2011

I'm happy with this one overall, though I could have done a better job on the eyes I guess.

I think I posted some of those in another art thread somewhere here but since this thread here popped up I thought I post this here again as CoT are using it for their new 7" which should be released in october *happy*. It's their logo done in the style of the old Mad Max movie (a great post apocal. movie series from the 80s for those of you late-born ;) )

Image

They also already use another design of me as a shirt:

Image

Have done many more logo stuff. Some Bal Sagoth fanart and (many) logos with a web-name (Bulletrider) I use on a retro-80s forum since many years as well as a MotU tribute logo. And yes - the logos for that possibly (hopefully ;) ) scream "80s". Here are a few selected one (more on my dev art page in my signature)

I really only play at my college's Pokemon club, so not much involvement with any Pokemon TGC community haha. (also sorry for the late reply)

Anyways, here's some stuff from this summer. (I also have a shit ton of stuff I could post from my first year at art school, but none of it is on this computer. Will post later)

Here's the second of 3 Plague Doctor style masks I made (3rd is WIP) hand stitched leather and ink.

I'm resurrecting this thread because I wanted to share this:
Image
This is a collaboration between me and two friends. We used spray paint and acryl. Not very... clean... but the creation process was kind of a mess and I didn't expect much to come out of two non-professionals and one complete amateur working at the same time on the same painting. Needless to say none of us did something like that before.

I hope no one minds if I resurrect this thread, I've got a lot of work that I've done recently that some people might like to see. I've been posting some of my work in the promotional forum and have gotten a few commissions, but I've limited that to mostly band related stuff. Here's some stuff from my Sophomore year as an illustration major and from this summer.

Digital master copy of one of Rembrandt's self portraits done on Photoshop CS4. I didn't get the face quite right but I think I got some of the expression.
Image

More digital practice.

I said I wouldn't post band stuff but here's a t-shirt design for my friends in Autolatry:

This is a watercolor I did for a gallery show. Inspired heavily by John Bauer.
Image

Class assignment. A view of the RISD library imagined with no gravity. Watercolor.

One of my favorite Illustration projects:

Some oil paintings:

Sorry for the fluctuating image sizes haha.
Here's my tumblr page: http://cspsillustrations.tumblr.com/
And my promotional thread: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=99281

I want so see some more of everyone elses stuff!

Great work Necroghast. I especially like the Rembrandt and the nude figure. If you haven't already you need to get The Painter at Work. Some of his underpainting techniques and secret sketching methods of preparation are revealed using painstaking modern research. Another is The Secret Formulas and Techniques of the Masters by Jacques Maroger that I also got and paid a pretty penny for it I should say. But it's worth it if simply to educate yourself on the history of classic oil painting and the preparation of paint, medium, and varnish techniques as well as Maroger's attempt to rediscover and share them for all aspiring classical painters.

Those both look like great books, thanks. I can't really afford them at the moment but I'll definitely keep my eyes out for them haha. Despite the fact that it's not necessarily where I want my professional path to lead, I am still really interested in traditional oil painting as it has always seemed to me to be "the" artistic medium. (as in all the masters used it) I feel like every artist owes it to themselves to learn to use oil paints at some point in their life. One of my painting teachers last semester (I did that figure painting in his class) was incredibly traditional in his practice and started to teach us some renaissance oil painting techniques which I really enjoyed. I'm taking a landscape painting class with him next semester and "advanced painting" with another teacher both of which I'm really looking forward to.

That's great. You're lucky to have teachers willing to help. Our painting teachers didn't prioritize actually teaching technicality beyond the basics where every class up to the advanced painting course was pretty much the same thing with little conceptual or practical pedagogy and variety. It wasn't until I discovered some of these books at our library on my own that I realized how much information, which I believe should be essential in any paining class, was being ignored, overlooked, or withheld. I was shocked to learn I was basically being ripped off with subpar instruction as it's not easy to pay for these classes out my pocket.

I've mentioned this guy before but for some of the best advice and overall cool guy to learn oil-painting check out David Leffel. For great illustration instruction look for Robert Liberace

Cross-posted from the FFA:

House of the Black Wolf. This is an online shop that my girlfriend and I have been operating for about a year now, selling art jewelry and other assorted illustration-y things that we make. It's been on etsy for most of the time but we just launched a new Bigcartel store and have started branching out into apparel and stuff. It's kind of out on a limb for this forum, but if anyone has any feedback/opinions on the brand (especially the female users here) or about the art itself, I'd be game to hear them! We've been working on this stuff for a while now and the sales have been fair, but we never really get any actual opinions from people on our creations, so it'd be great to get some new outside feedback.
