Any of you fine doom-minded (some ambient fans may want apply) gentleman up on this Velvet Robe nonsense? I read some buzzing about them on the NWN forums awhile back and just now caved to curiosity. There are a few samples on youtube. Seems to be really fucked up doom with some drone and ambient leanings. Utterly simple and primitive, going for pure mood above all else.

Predictably it was released as a "deluxe edition" tape to the number of 30 fucking copies. I'm keeping my eye on their labels website though, as I really want to snag a copy of the repress. I hope they choose to do a bigger run, even if it means leaving out the animal bones...
