This is something I'm curious about this because although there has been an explosion of OS style thrash bands in recent years there seem to be very few that take much influence from the likes of sodom, sarcofago, onslaught, etc. the only chief examples I can think of are toxic holocaust and skeletonwitch. Just curious to see if there are many others.

Thanks for the recomends dude ill definitely be checking out nocturnal and goatwhore are a good call i hadnt thought of them although aura noir and absu(who i saw last night fucking awesome show) both date back to the early 90s so you couldnt really consider them NWOTM.

Ketzer, Sodomizer, Trench Hell, Hellcannon, Cruel Force.

Ketzer sounds a lot like Desaster to me and Sodomizer, Cruel Force, and Trench Hell sound like Venom, Bathory and Celtic Frost.

Hellcannon sounds like Toxic Holocaust.

Vomitor (with ex-Spear of Longinus and Gospel of the Horns members)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqF6AOLqwj4

Track 1 originally recorded by the aforementioned SoL. Actually, you might also enjoy that band.

I would recommend pretty much going for black/thrash bands than, since they are similar to the NWOTM (which by the way I don't like the label for it) and the whole sound is not off either. Also recommend checking out a band called Maximum Oversatan.

I realize that some if not most of these may not fit your request 100%, but I don't draw a line between black metal influenced NWOTM and black/thrash. Seconding the mighty Ketzer!

Here are a bunch of other black/thrash bands off the top of my head worth looking into.

Xanadoo (Sounds like Bonded by Blood (the album, not the band) mixed with Sodom)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01IDooDVTHg

Nifelheim (one of the most well known ones and one of the best. Very blasphemous and intense)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1HjCe8NcZ0

Witchmaster (features Inferno from Behemoth on drums)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWKFLQQ8jao

Witchaven (easily one of the best blackened thrash bands right now)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mPSyQJIv0I

Witchery (Pretty standard black/thrash and this particular song is very rocking and fun)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kYQOI1KiNs

Witchtrap (Got that South American feel that so many underground black/thrash bands from South America currently share. Sounds a lot like early Destruction)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdb9O3DIJrc

Power from Hell (I love the Motorhead vibe going on here and named after an Onslaught album to. One of my favorites)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkeDzXS5gw0

I don't have time to find links for all as my computer runs youtube very slow for some reason but here are a ton of others to check out.

Nocturnal Breed (very motorhead sounding), Inferno (Nor), Vesen, Urn (kind of just fast and cliche but you may like them), Sauron (very raw), Evil Army (very much like early Toxic Holocaust with the riffing though not so blackened), Lightning Swords of Death (first album is good but the second one sucks sadly), Destroyer 666 (too obvious?), Nocturnal Graves, Cruel Force (contains more traditional metal influence than most), Trench Hell (Like Hellhammer and Venom), Force of Darkness (Another decent black/thrash band from South America) and Blasphemous Creation.

No mention of Perversor yet? Some of the most destructive black/thrash to come from anywhere at the moment. All releases are killer.

Greece's Ravencult are also strong contenders, with the blistering Morbid Blood record.

Sweden's Terrorama also fit the bill with their red-eyed and bleeding attack on black/thrash with a hint of early Bathory malevolence. great raw, uncompromising stuff.

Adorior are well worth your time too. Full fucking on black/thrash with hints of death metal as well. Utterly savage.
