Hi All,

Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of the Survey Results that were done a couple of years ago for all the main genres, DM, BM, Doom, Heavy, Power Metal, Grind, Folk - I think that was all of them?

The search function isn't turning up anything for me.

I vaguely recall them all being consolidated into an Excel document by someone, is that still around? Or can they be found anywhere else?

Many Thanks.

I have a couple saved on my old computer (death, thrash and black I think), if no one has a good response in a few days I can send them.

I don't think they did a folk or Grind one but they did do a thrash one.

That thrash one makes me sad. Just the big names polluting the list with their overrated stuff. Some are good but not nearly as high as they should be. The albums in the second half of the list are mostly better than the top half...

Those might be some of the worst lists I've ever seen...

I remember voting for the black metal one. Lastdodobird was definitely the user who oversaw those lists here on MA, so those are correct.

I wonder how a lot of recent albums since then would affect those lists (it's been around 5 years). I'd assume very few (if any) would crack the top 50 in any of them.

They're all like that. I didn't take part in these since back then I didn't consider my knowledge deep enough (3years of death metal), clearly not many other newbies back then had the same restraint.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not one to be blinded by 'classic' status. Some of my absolute favourite thrash albums come from recent years. Ironbound, When Death Comes and The Evolution of Chaos most of all.

Both death and doom would have many albums post 08 in my lists. Thrash would have Vektor and that's about it.
