That's great.... I don't care since it's so long ago. So really thanks for nothing.

Naked Whipper wins and additionally so does the band Christbait.

Shit is crushing, right? Excellent mix of FETO style grind with some goregrind elements throw in, to my ears. If you haven't checked out Couple Skate and you like good goregrind then look into them as well. I think they broke up though...

Ah yeah, i've heard one of Couple Skate's demos, it was pretty rad! I love that style of goregrind that has a good bit of groovy riffs over simple thrash beats. Can't get enough.

Ah, I should have looked at the post date. I guess these help topics don't move very fast.

Anyone heard Curmudgeon's "Human Ouroboros" EP? I'm dying to hear it, but haven't had a chance to order it yet.

I'm looking for something that sound like either Mukeka Di Rato or Pig Destroyer, especially in the vocal department.

Here's some songs by Mukeka as proabably most people aren't familiar with them.

Hooker Spit Windex is an awesome grind band I think everyone should check out. Their split with Pizza Hi Five is awesome as well as their split with Black Bridge.

Powercup is a great band. Saw them with Pizza Hi Five not too long ago and they blew Pizza Hi Five out of the water.

Also, check out Scaphe from Minnesota. Not really grindcore, but some of the best MITB worship I've heard. Seeing them on the 25th, going to be great.

HSW and Powercup are both killer. Bummer that HSW is done though. The new PHF / Infernal Stronghold split is bangin'

Wow. That sucks about HSW.

Also didn't know Powercup played Obscene Extreme Fest. That rules seeing them in a basement, makes it all the more special I guess.

Yeah man, powercup has been doing very well for themselves. they're doing Play Fast or Don't Fest in the czech republic this year along with PHF, Backslider, and a bunch of other sick bands.

Just for anyone on here...try the song Covered in Puke by Scurvy. Not well known, but damn they should be...it's addicting stuff. By the way...what the hell is the singer doing? Wheezing!?

Finland has a badass grind scene currently, I suggest you guys check out some of these albums!

Slash Dementia - Race Against the Machine (just brilliant grind)
Spawn From Deceit - At Least We Did Care (lots of punk influence and great vocals)
GAF - Cultivate Disdain (So. Damn. Groovy.)
Feastem - World Delirium (Kills all around)
Psykoanalyysi - Kivitys EP (Incredibly tight riffing, lyrics are great but you should still check it out even if you're not finnish)
Nistikko - Hävitys (Some of my favorite grind there is)
The Decapitated Midgets - 30 Ways to Die & Shit Ceremony (My favorite goregrind band, I like them even more than Regurgitate!! Sick stuff)
Famine Year - All their stuff (Just awesome)

Check out Naked Whipper. They released one album, in 1995, called Painstreaks. It was re-released last yesr.

Naked Whipper is fantastic. Other than that, check out Aborted Christ Childe. Their demo got reissued in 2010, and it's some ferocious and raw black/grind.

Aside from these two rec's (which are great), are there any others? Blackened grind seems like a blend that would have a fair amount options.

You'd think so based on the genres similarities in execution but I think the ideologies of the 2 differ enough that there's not a lot of crossover... at least that I'm aware of.

I have been disconnected from grindcore for a long while, just recently made a comeback to it and now I'm listening to good ol' Fear of God, Electro Hippies and those.

Anyway, just wanted to ask, any special, unique grind bands that came lately I should be aware of? I mean something different from the rest, not the same brit or american grind copycat as usual.

Pretty Little Flower and Insect Warfare from TX are def worth a look. IW is nothing "new" per say but they're good enough to warrant checking out regardless. PLF crosses ultra fast grind with thrash metal riffing/mosh parts.

If you like your grind crossed with fastcore and punk then i'd highly recommend Hummingbird of Death. The Diagnosis: Delicious EP and split with I Accuse are my personal favorites.

Look into a Czech band called Gride. Definitely some off-kilter grind, a bit techy at times too. I could compare them to !T.O.O.H!, but this band actually gets to grindin' and their songs definitely carry a bit more momentum. They just put out a full-length last year, but I can't remember what it's called...

guys, what are some cool grindcore bands that lean heavily toward the punk/hardcore side of the spectrum? preferably bands with political content.

If you like agathocles then def check out archagathus! They just put out 2 LPs "Canadian Horse" and "Coffee Grinder" and both are incredibly ripping. Lt. Dan is another rad band in the Archagathus/Agathocles realm you should look into. Powercup don't have political lyrics but they definitely have an audible punk influence so you'd at least dig their sound i think.

Hmm, musically the bands you mention sound like what I'm after. Arcgagathus, especially, sounds really badass. But they are def not serious enough in their image/aesthetic for my current tastes. Do you know any bands with a similar sound but with a more serious aesthetic? Thank you for the recommendations, though.

Suffering Mind from Poland are one of the best grindcore bands out there. Listen to anything by them, their latest LP is fantastic.

Don't know how familiar you are with power violence, but definitely give Infest and Capitalist Casualties a shot.

Sayyadina's a great pick too, if you like Nasum.

Mind as Prison (they even do a sick of it all cover on their last ep) is pretty honest grindcore.

Sakatat from Turkey as well, very old school punk influence feel.

Looking for some grind with vocals similar to what Travis Ryan does in Murder Construct and the vocals in Nasum. Me love some of those throat slashed meaty vocals.

Is there anything like Parlamentarisk Sodomi's "Har du Sagt..." album with a full band or at least real drums? Mostly looking for an emphasis on those fast rocking riffs, unrelenting speed and Sore Throat-esque vocals

Oof. Honestly I can't think of anything that's close... that shit is a cut above the rest even with a drum machine. You could try something like PLF if you're not familiar with them... the "Crushing Fury of Bastardization" LP specifically as it's probably their fastest and most frantic jams... vocals don't necessarily fit but riffs and speed are there in spades.
