I was never a big fan of these guys (which says something considering my affinity for death metal), but I must say, I dig how they're slowing things down on this song and how the lyrics aren't about gore like 99% of the rest of the songs in their discography. I may have to buy their new album.

Any thoughts on it?

Might just have to get another CC album..... I only really like (and own) The Bleeding and Bloodthirst, but this sounds very promising.

Holy shit, that sounded awesome. Probably even better than Demented Aggression. Then again, I've got a thing for slow death metal that drops riff after huge fucking riff on your head.

Really liking this, the production is quality. Think I'll have to pick it up, enjoyed the past couple CC albums and I doubt this will dissapoint.

I have to say, this is pretty nice. My opinion of what I've heard so far just jumped from "might pick up the album sometime when I find it cheap" to "might possibly keep my eye on it for release day". We'll see if the next tracks that come out to the public will jump it right up to "Preorder" territory.

Fortunately, CC is one of those bands you can find at pretty much every HMV/whatever with a metal section, even if it's some backwoods location that considers Maiden underground, so this album will be easy to find wherever/whenever I decide to plunk down for it.

I haven’t really listened to any of their albums with Corpsegrinder to compare to, but I’m not really feeling the vocals on this track.

I found this one a lot more solid than Demented Agression. Not enough to check out the album, but not Morbid Angel levels of terrible either.

Wow, they weren't kidding when they mentioned that they wanted to craft each song so as to have their own individual identity. Of course it is far too early to tell but so far it looks like Torture will be one of my more favoured Corpsegrinder CC releases. I'm really digging those octave progressions.

The bass tone in the mix also is their strongest since the Bleeding I might add.

Yup, this song fucking destroys. That savage guitar tone is just devastating and Corpsegrinder gives one of his most brutal vocal performances ever. Can't wait to pick this album up.

I love early (Barnes era) Cannibal Corpse ---- but judging by the song titles from the upcoming album, i feel that they've just exhausted all the originality in being 'brutal' --- musically the new stuff sounds good, but i dont know how many more albums they have left that simply deal with beating the shit outta people or killing dudes without being totally generic.

Good song. I don't think it's as good as some of you are making out but it is a solid slab of good ol' death metal.

The slammin' opening riff is badass. I love, love, love it when these guys slow it down. Just crushes. It's not reinventing the wheel, but it's damn solid.

Wow. I must echo everyone else's sentiments. This is a great track. It almost has an old school death metal feel about it, which I love. With this and Demented Aggression, this album is really shaping up. Damn, with this and the new Aborted, 2012 is looking to be a solid year for death metal.

This is actually quite a solid track, much better than Demented Aggression, which I thought was pretty average for CC. This one's got that headbanging groove to it, but they switch it up enough to make it more interesting than Evisceration Plague (the track). An improvement.

Whoa that was way better than I expected. That's probably the best slow song I've ever heard them do. That main groove was awesome.

This is heavier than an army of elephants wearing iron combat boots and plate armor driving monster trucks.

One thing I'm definitely happy about is that the bass is louder than it was on Evisceration Plague. Still digging the shit out of this song. I can only imagine how much it would crush live. Can't wait to see them again.

Fuck guys, I haven't seen responses this overwhelmingly positive to a new song since, well, Demented Aggression. And not for a long time before that.

I want to hear this right fucking NOW. Sadly, I cannot. Oh well.

this is pretty good. cannibal corpse is one of those bands i almost never bother with, but when i listen to a few tracks i wonder to myself why i don't listen to them more. this song felt like it could easily be a classic track, and probably would've if it hadn't come so late in their career. it's got a very "sentenced to burn" feel to it.

I liked the faster parts of the song slightly more than the slower ones. Slower parts tend to sound too sludgy for my taste.

Looks like I'm the only one who found it boring as shit, right? I like some slow death metal (I'm a fervant Incantation fan, I love funeral doom/death, etc) but this was... just there. I can't feel anything from this; Corpsegrinder sounds ok but he's not menacing at all, like going thru the motions. The production is really good tho.

"Torture" is gonna be the most overrated death metal record ever released. Both "Demented Aggression" and "Scourge of Iron" just sound like average death metal. The upcoming album is gonna be OK, but Corpsegrinder is weak on vocals, and the music itself is good enough for what it is.

Was kinda positive, and I guess you don't like CC at all or the latest releases. I gave up after Bloodthirst, but I hate Vile with a passion.

So you dislike this, yet have a raging boner for Morbid Angel's pathetic remix album?

Some things never change.

Read between the lines man, it quite obviously means I didnt really like the song but found the guitar solo to be somewhat of a redeeming factor :p

I got it well, just that the song didn't deserve nothing really positive besides the good production that a band as big as CC should have - hell, even current Deicide rapes CC in the solo department and sheer brutality.

CC played here in december along with 2 deathcore acts. CC was solid but it felt like they did it just for the $ or as a normal job, a completely different performance compared with my first CC gig (with Barnes) and also very lackluster compared to CC + Death + Incantation back in 98'.

I guess I'll download to check it and then decide if it's worthy of purchase. These 2 tracks did nothing to me.

Oh, and while I strongly dislike the MA's remixes, Blades, Nevermore and Existo off Illud are far more interesting tracks than these new CC ones. I'm serious.
