Looking for really obscure instruments that can be considered traditional in a certain country. For example, the er-hu is a traditional chinese instrument from China. I believe there are plenty of it used in bands such as Eluveitie, Negura Bunget, Orphaned Land.
Are there any that uses traditional African instruments?
Do note that i am not looking for bands that uses saxophone, trumpet.

Take a look at Senmuth, He uses plenty of tribal/ethnical tunes. If you want African stuff, check out the album Aethiopia.

The likes of Waylander, Cruachan, Folkearth and Folkodia use Tin Whistles, if that what you are interested in?

Bagpipes are very common of late, espiecially bagpipe driven band, Skiltron, a fine example.
I'll check the rest. Good call on the tribal elements. Hope there are more to discover

Latvian pagan/black metallers Skyforger occasionally use not only bagpipes, but also the traditional Latvian instrument the kokle, a stringed instrument like a zither.

I also would like to see more African instruments in Metal; I reckon the kora would work rather well.

Nest are well known for their use of the kantele

Tevana 3 are a new band who use an electric kantele instead of an electric guitar -- one of my favorite recent albums.

Chthonic. Taiwanese band, they use some sort of traditional instrument that's sort of a one-stringed violin. They also emulate harps and other instruments on keyboard.

Nest are also well known for not playing metal.

Marțolea uses bucium, kaval, mouth harp and wooden flute, apparently. It's a folkish black metal one-man project with some diverse influences. For one thing, the song Ceas Rău sounds like a punk song.

Well, they're Crust and not exactly Metal but Al Thawra use traditional Middle Eastern instruments. It seems kind of gimmicky, but surprisingly it sounds rather nice.

Learn to read when there is a full stop. Plenty of obscure instruments used in bands like Eluveitie, if you need me to spell it out for you, and obviously they are not from China

God of Shamisen uses shamisen (obviously)

I would also like to second the Tengger Cavalry recommendation. My favorite Asian metal band.
