If anyone sees a lot of edits in The Cumshots' last two albums is because I am correcting/adding lyrics as I listen to the songs. There are lots of mistakes in Just Quit Trying.

Which one do you mean? I don't know Hungarian and Danish, but the approximate translations for that Karaczun release would be:
1. Melancholy
2. Grief of the Soul
3. The Lost Teardrops / Well of Oblivion
4. (probably this means "Inexistent" or "Inessential", but I'm not sure, I've asked people from Belarus, and they don't know this word either, I should ask author about this when I'll have a chance to talk to him again...)
5. Cold Blizzard
7. Rumour (???)
8. Lassitude

Wait, never mind. When I said that, I was looking at Nerkroth's lyrics sheet, and Karaczun's album entry, so I didn't know which names corresponded to which tracks. :durr: I suck. I added the Nerkroth lyrics...might add the Karaczun ones later if I'm up to it.

the lyrics are generally capitalized. Are there any means of fixing it neatly and without much of an effort?

  • Download and install Notepad++ if you haven't already.
  • Copy and paste the lyrics into a new document.
  • Select everything and go Edit... -> Convert Case to... -> Lowercase (optionally, just press Ctrl+U)
  • Manually capitalise the first letters of every sentence and/or noun, as is appropriate to locale.

I'm using Microsoft Office for this.

just one question

do you know riot's immortal soul is still without some lyrics? i don't own the record and I'm kind of surprised they're not on the site yet
is it possibly that there are no lyrics printed in the booklet?

Hi !
I'm one of the guys who adds lyrics. I just never posted anything in the Forum.

On Sunday I bought a bunch of albums, after manual typing from the CD booklet and correction reading I will do the updates for three albums. I'm rather sure that nobody else will be working on the same stuff.
Otherwise it's bad luck for me.

When you check my profile you will figure out that it takes me some more years to gather enough pooints for the next category - metal freak und to be rewarded with the status of a so called trusted user.

Further postings will follow.

Cheers

I wrote a small application months ago to speed up typing lyrics from image-based booklets because OCR was useless for that album (Cryfemal's Increibles Tormentos but that doesn't really matter). I got fed up with constantly alt-tabbing between IrfanView and Notepad. :) Supports zooming in and out too. Works on Windows XP or above (needs Unicode), haven't tested on Linux with wine, though.

edit: Since attaching the file seems to be failed, here's the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?8g9f46h4yo43f18

This post is quite old, but I'd like to address a general question of mine: If the original titles are in characters other than latin, should they appear that way on the archives?
The demo exists on the archives, but the titles are in latin characters. Do you want them in the original greek characters? If so I can oblige.

EDIT: I'll edit a bunch of Greek releases later.
Dibs on:
Caedes Cruenta - Skies Daimonon (wrong artwork and some lyrics missing)
Necrovorous - Funeral for the Sane (lyrics missing)
Nadiwrath - Nihilistic Stench (lyrics missing)
Unholy Archangel - The Wrath of Kosmosistis (lyrics missing)
Misvita - Misanthropic Aura (lyrics incomplete)

EDIT AGAIN: The lyrics of Misvita's cover of "Under a Funeral Moon" also include, wrongly, the lyrics of the next track in Darkthrone's album (Inn I De Dype Skogers Favn). I don't have the permissions to edit this, can someone else delete it?

@Poisonfume, I removed the incorrect part of those lyrics.

Here is a quick copy/paste/format for the last band on this split:
