Hey, I posted on this forum for recommendation before and it was a great success so I'm doing it again. I'm looking for Metal with some jazz influence. Example of this would be bands like Opeth, Sigh, Shining (the one that released Blackjazz) and Aenaon. Preferably, I'm looking for a Black Metal/Death Metal mix with jazz, but please feel free to post anything that fits my criteria.
Thanks in advance!

look at Pantera, especially "By Demons Be Driven" for example... idk.
and E.X.P. Prog Daeth metal influenced by jazzz, and so is Atheist and Cynic is pretty jazz influenced too, like fusion jazz and stuff.

i don't listen to that much of their stuff, so tha's about it... :P

Unfortunately, I know all of the bands you mentioned and I love all of them. Thank you for the recs though! I should have mentioned that if it's a band that's as famous as Pantera or Cynic I probably know them.

Well I see the too big one's, Cynic and Athiest, have been mentioned so I'll move on. (Death's later work actually does contain a bit of Jazz influence as well (Probably from about "Human" onward) although you're probably well aware of Death).

Anyway, give Augury a go

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I45eeUvo0N4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-_NsAKNeao
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObacgODnxMs

Most of the bands with Dominic Lapointe (former bassist of Augury) contain some kind of Jazz-Fusion/Prog influence to them.
Try Atheretic, Humanoid (Instrumental), and Beyond Creation.

Beyond Creation (little more on the proggy side, but still a fantastic band nonetheless, very good debut)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MzAnRLfZOY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeVtjpnja6Q

Humanoid (Contains members of Unexpect as well)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhbrNqW5fzU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2JfHlwnUeU

Exivious, another instrumental band

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWyEY4oKIOs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rJruc5iOGc

Obscura, whom, you've probably heard of, do contain some jazz elements

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzjKMYsiGyk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHgnMHo4Nr4

The Faceless's latest album too perhaps?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcxQE-osYqk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiqSF3b_2YI

And just for the fuck of it, even some of Cryptopsy's older stuff has some jazzy bass moments

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkNbTS7uhLE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xr6fRQ0Johs

Hope this was somewhat helpful, :) I'm not exactly a jazz connoisseur of any sorts, so these recs may not exactly be what you're looking for.

Not that it fits the rec, but I suspect you'd like Benighted In Sodom's "Fort Lauderdale".

I would recommend Condition Red's first album. I really like it, it sounds very unusual. It has some male vocals which sound kind of power metal (and I'm not really a fan of power metal) and female vocals (I usually don't like female jazz vocals, but Ella Grussner has an awesome rock voice). It's progressive jazzy metal, but it's not combined like you would expect it to be combined.

basically death-y Jazz, they actually refer to it as Satanic Jazz.

Masses of plus point to you. I rarely hear Humanoid get recommended, but Remembering Universe is one of my favourite albums of the past few years. Some truly amazing music. Also seconding your Exivious rec.

Vuvr is a really good band from the Czech Rep. Highly recommended: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4vUIvWCDyY

I definitely agree with: Atheist, Cynic, Exivious, La Rumeur Des Chaines. The Faceless and Obscura do definitely have jazz influence most of it doesn't sound jazzy.

As for others: Revocation's latest release has some really jazzy soloing.

Gorguts is pretty jazzy in their own way.

Not really metal but he is a jazz shred guitarist- Guthrie Govan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEpst3W6KD8

Also not black or death metal and is really obvious but : Dream Theater

Pestilence's Spheres and Doctrine.
Portal (Cynic sans Malone)
Gordian Knot
Spastic Ink
Later Fates Warning
Arch/Matheos
Spiral Architect
Watchtower
Vintersorg's Visions from the Spiral Generator and The Focusing Blur (both heavily progressive and quite jazzy in bass and drums)
Maybe Ihsahn's After

Another vote for Exivious. Your search ends here! Their self-titled album is fantastic. The jazz influence is very bold.

Chris Poland's first solo album is pretty much what pops into my head when I think of Metal and Jazz combined;

Maybe more progressive than jazz-influenced, but if you enjoy Atheist and Cynic you'll definitely like Sadist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jH8fbH28bPM

Check out Sleep Terror. They are primarily instrumental, but its two guys that play hyper speed deathgrind with jazz breakdowns. Pretty creative stuff.
