Have you ever meet a member here by coincidence, just going about your life? Like say you strike up a conversation with someone about music and they mention they're a member here, and you say something like "No way! Me too!" or something? Personally, I haven't met anyone in real life.

I think I did before... I was talking to some guy at a concert about MA, but he never mentioned having an account. He seemed fairly knowledgable about the site though, and I'd think he has an account.

No, but I'd like too. Honestly, I haven't met any metal people in real-life, but it's certainly something I would like to do in the near future.

Think it was Triptykon and 1349.

None at all? How sad!

I've been wanting to meet a couple of MA users but we just don't have luck...

Just go out to a metal bar. Your 18 and live in Australia. Unless you are one of the 2% of the population that happens to not live in or close to a major city you shouldn't have a problem.

The only people that I've met from MA are people I first met on MA and contacted to meet. One was Blood_Cobra, but I haven't seen or heard from him in ages. The other is iAm, and he's basically my concert bud; real cool dude. All my other metal friends don't have accounts here.

I've met a number of the Australian members over my few years here. Although, those were arranged meetings as opposed to random encounters.

I've never met any MA users before, but I'd sure like to sometime, perhaps at a metal show. I know I have a good opportunity every year to do so, since I do go to the Maryland Deathfest and I know a bunch of MA users go there.

That's also too bad MutantClannfear, and you are probably right that the metal population there isn't too big. There has to be at least one other MA user from there though, right? :???:

I have met somefella before, twice before knowing that he was, well, somefella from MA. Both times were at the (only) local metal shop.

I also know UndisputedSol personally, although we arranged meetings rather than randomly met at a show or something. He contacted me first on MA, and it progressed from there.

I did meet a bunch of MA members at Maryland Deathfest, although that was mostly arranged (but some of them I just recognized and pointed them out to the person I was with). I live in Maryland, but haven't met anyone from here that goes to MA, I don't think.

I'm sure I've seen you at a ton of shows, then. I go to a lot of them with iamntbatman, so yeah. A tad further from Baltimore, but we still head up there a lot.

Probably at any gigs I've been to at London (like Live Evil), but I've never actually gone up and gone 'oh hai person from MA'.

Yup; Ive seen Mortado around at a few shows as well. I caught one kid back in high school browsing the archives, but he mentioned that he never posts on the forum because of the elitist assholes

I "met" Suechtler some years ago at a German/Austrian metal festival in front of the stage after Sodom (I think). Not that I really knew him personally from the forum, but he posted a photo of himself once and for some odd reason I remembered him. Yeah.

The exchange went something like this: "Hey, I know you, you're on the MA forum, right?" "Yeah." "What's your nick?" "'Suechtler'." "Right, keep up the good work, cheerio." And off after some friends to the next source of beer I was. Really quite pointless. I imagine I came across as a tiny bit creepy.

Nop, but meeting some would be cool. I can imagine having a nice talk with, say, MikeyC. We could listen to some Runemagick together. :p

Strange that you mention it. I happen to be listening to Runemagick right now.

Yeah the two I have met I had sort of known I was going to meet anyway. Those two are MikeyC who I hung out with for a few hours at some festival down in Melbourne, cool dude, sadly I got a bit (Obscenely) smashed so I don't remember a lot/didn't get to hang out for long. Still cool dude, other than that is Insolent Heretic, who added me on FB from talking to me here, she only has like 400 posts, so she'd be a relative unknown I suppose, also a very cool person.

I've met a few people completely randomly who use the site extensively, but not registered/not forum users.

Bumped into Zeingard and Fierce_Troll at gigs randomly, nice guys both of 'em. People that I've seen, but not randomly: Lennonlikesmetal, Napero, Macmoney, MushroomStamp, DeathFog, DisembowelMe, Droneriot, DanFuckingLucas, ANationalAcrobat, probably a few others that I've forgotten about. So far they've all been people that I've gotten along with really well.

I've met some, one of my friend is HeavenDuff, his reviews are nice. I go to the same shows as Morrigan and Hellblazer, so i'll met them someday, With the MA chat on facebook created by fetalfeast, i've made friends from all over the world, so that's cool for my future travels

I've met about a dozen MA members mostly through Maryland Deathfest but also at a few local/regional shows. I got along with everyone better than I expected and I've become close friends with a few as well. Once I move to Pittsburgh, I will be living with two of the biggest jerks that have ever frequented this site.

Bastardhead and I both went to the same Blind Guardian concert once, but we didn't meet. I've met enough metalheads in my life to wager that some of them have been on this site, but I've never actually talked about it with anyone, or met someone who I knew about from MA.

Yep, there are actual metalheads here dude. The scene is pretty good as well, as evidenced by the great turnout for the Goatwhore show April 8th.

I met a guy at a music store who's on the archives, and apparently got banned. He has his own one man black metal band, Petrichorus, but unfortunately lives in Arkansas.

Did your parents catch you listening to more of that "heavy metal devil music" again?

Actually I just recently met a few members of the MA in real life, Met one on purpose, and then it turns out some of his buddies are on here too (acan't remember their user names at the moment). I went form figuring no one else in IL knew this site existed to basically having a bunch of people around my area. Still shocking to me, but definitely neat. Hopefully I'll get to meet them all some day!

And like Metantoine said, the MA facebook chat has definitely gotten us all freindy and buddy buddy, so that's a good time.

I remember talking with some guy i metal in school about the archives.
He said something about Christkiller being an idiot or something :P.

I noticed that there are actually relatively few people from mainland europe in the forums and relatively more from places where metal isnt as popular. Maybe because people have trouble finding people irl and because of that just go join forums?

Regardless ive only seen a few people in here from the netherlands and we definitely have a healthy metal scene here.
