No one cares about your attempt to subtly earn "troo metal" cred. Get out of the thread.

Like I give a shit what you or any other fag(they make up 90% of this forum) on here thinks. I'm merely stating my opinion on that joke of a genre/subgenre. I'll post on any thread I please. F.O.A.D

Er, you obviously only posted what you said as a desperate cry for attention. But that's what trolls do, right?

Hell yeah, great band. I didn't like their latest release that much, but their debut, as well as 'The Lost Verses' is some great technical deathcore.

Hey that wasn't bad. Sounds closer to melodic death than deathcore or metalcore though.

I've been listening a lot to Irate's demos (Burden of a Crumbling Society mostly) and I was wondering if anyone here knew of a few more bands in that mould. Really liking that mix of beatdown hardcore and death metal.

Not interested in modern deathcore though.

Might already know of it, but Merauder's Master Killer album sounds somewhat similar.

If you can tolerate slightly more hardcore-based stuff, try a band called Restraint...indie stuff from Malaysia.

Heard of them, hadn't listened to that album. Not quite what I was expecting but decent enough - I'd prefer more heaviness but I think thats the production as much as the songwriting.

Not my cup of tea but it is nice to hear a metalcore band attempting something different.

For people looking for interesting metal/deathcore, The Contortionist, Painted in Exile, and Dead Man in Reno are all highly recommended.

+1 on the contortionist. Man they've got some great riffs! I live the intro riffs on Flourish. Does anyone know how to acheive their tones?

What deathcore bands are heavy without any of the trendy shit? No colorful neon shirts for merch, no skinny jeans, gauges, scratchy logos, pig squeals. Deathcore bands that actually care about their music. Preferably brutal deathcore that is technical as well.

Seconded Moker, check out Distorted Impalement.

And guys, I need some good catchy deathcore. Like a lot of the stuff released back in 06. As Blood Runs Black, Bring Me the Horizon, bands who have insanely catchy breakdowns instead of just being mosh inducing. I guess some of the melodic deathcore bands are like that but I'm open to tech, brutal and just straightforward stuff too.

The Somatic Defilement-era Whitechapel, The Myriad Burial, and Emmure are all pretty catchy.

By the way, I'm loving Distorted Impalement, WP, thanks!

+1, [i]The Somatic Defilemnt[/] is a pretty good album, and don't forget to check out ABRB's new album!

Hehe, heard all of em except The Myriad Burial. Emmure is pretty cool, I like the beatdown influences in them but they never struck me as catchy. Haven't heard Whitechapel in over a year I guess, but I remember them as being pretty catchy. And I'll check out the new ABRB album - how is it??

I'm in love with Bring me the Horizon's breakdowns and riffage on Count Your Blessings. It's like demented dance-beats, kind of like Carnifex's breakdowns on their 2nd album. Something like that would be appreciated.

So some of my favorite modern death metal bands seem to get jammed in with the metalcore/deathcore scene. I noticed a lot of the bands they tour with are on the deathcore side. Some of these bands might have core under tones to their sound. They generally seem to share the same fans. I am looking for more bands similar to the fallowing..

Anima
As You Drown
Dead Beyond Buried
The Famine
Thy Art Is Murder
Trigger The Bloodshed
Woe of Tyrants

These are the type of bands that dont base their songs around breakdowns. They have awesome riffs and guitar solos. When they do throw out a break down its something more then an open string chugging riff. It may be a grooved out version of a previously played riff in the song. I figure the deathcore fans that cross over into death metal may have some similar taste. Any suggestions?

JWUltrawhatever obviously has nothing better to do with his life so he resorts to shit like that to raise whatever little self-esteem he has.

And what's wrong with the new ABRB album!? :O I haven't checked it out yet. I love their debut.

ABRB's new album is fucking awful. Imagine Black dhalia if all of the mife was sucked out of it, and in its place someone put boringness there instead. it's juts like slow, and insipid BDM. Their debut is timeless, and will always be one of my favorite albums

I like something which I call "Metalcore with balls". Stuff like Chimaira, Trivium and Devildriver. That whiney stuff like Bullet For my Valentine, Still Remains, Avenged Sevenfold and As I Lay Dying I can't stand to be honest. And there isn't any Deathcore that I like either.

You familiar with 90s metalcore, bro? Cuz that shit has even more balls than the bands you mentioned. If you want, I can throw some reccs. 90s metalcore is one of my favorite genres.

Yes, stuff like Converge. More or less.

Check out the Belgian scene. Congress, Arkangel and whatnot. THese guys blended in Black and Death metal with the hardcore shit, called themselves 'edgemetal'

The Holy Terror scene had some great bands like Integrity and RINGWORM (personal favorite.)

And of course there's classic moshcore stuff like Earth Crisis's Destroy the Machines, 25 Ta Life's Keepin It Real and the first Hatebreed album.

Speaking of 25 ta Life, check out their new york hardcore brothers MERAUDER. Now these guys were fuckign amazing... fused Bolt Thrower and Obituary riffs with Pantera styled vocals and hardcore ethos. Totally amazing, their Master Killer album is a stone cold classic. And of course you cant mention Merauder without mentioning Vision of Disorder and their debut album that has the ultimate metalcore anthem - SUFFER. along with a whole bunch of other awesome tracks.

More cool shit from NY - All Out War, Irate and Sworn Enemy. If you like these bands, might want to check out TERROR as well.

If you want darker, more depressing stuff then Indecision, Damnation AD and Morning Again is the way to go.

Some other good bands are Liar, 108, Zao, early Converge, One King Down, Cold as Life, Racetraitor.

Since you like Converge, you'd want to check out Buried Alive, Martyr AD, Cave In, Botch, Skycamefalling...

All the stuff Wet Pussy recommended fucking destroys. For even more 90's metalcore check out Acme, Ironside, Acrid, Systral, Starkweather, Decontaminate, Harvest, Killtheslavemaster, and Bloodlet.
