Lyrics aren't so hard if you can get a solid idea of what the song is about. I generally write down song titles first before most anything and use the feel of those to direct my writing, musically and lyrically.

If only I could play keyboards, or had a synth. I may then be able to create the Bal Sagoth worship band that I have dreamed of creating.

You could program them via MIDI.

I think, you can never compensate for a real instrument, no matter how good your material is.

well i'm very particular about what I write. and like I said in my previous post. I already have my titles. I know what each title is going to represent the songs already follow how I wish them to. I'm just very particular about my lyrics and how I go about getting them. I can't just sit down and go 'wrie lyrics' i am usually just struck and go with it from there.

I've finished the lyrics, now I'm just finishing the music, which is a thrashy/groovy style with Kreator style vocals.

cool deal. I plan on completing guitars today and will start on vocals throughout the week. I'll use up what I got and then just continue on writing some lyrics till I complete them and record the rest.

Now that you've mentioned it, I think I'll write something related to Doom. Probably next week though.

I am done with guitars and synths for my song. I like how it turned out, now this guy I know needs to drum for it.

I am interested. Is it gonna be like your Destructive Dreams stuff (which, by the way, I still need that demo)?

after spending 4 hours in programming drums, I had to start from the beginning, after discovering missed notes that made drums out of time with other instruments.

I have some random unused programmed drum tracks sitting around. I'll try to just mosh in some bass parts with it and see what happens. Maybe I'll do some screaming over it too haha.

I'm probably going to program my drums tonight after work, fine tuneing the song structure a bit. got my "metal" guitar intoned, so this should be fun.

PS: I 'm planning on using frooty loops to do the drums, but if anyone can recomend anything better i'd be open to suggestions

If you have the GP file we could collab and I'd give you a drum track.

Anyone notice our friend ChantingOfThePriests has been absent from this thread for a week now. I haven't seen him on the forums since the Kreator - Hordes of Chaos thread a few days back. It's probably worth nominating a new mediator. Just a suggestion. I wouldn't mind hearing a few of the final finished pieces myself either.

You're probably right. Still, this competition must go on.

Did any of you bedroom dwellers ever consider that some of the other users here have jobs, and can't access the computer every night to check on your oh-so-important kvlt songs?

There is still plenty of time Nightwisher, but if you need another three days then the 28th it shall be.

And what the hell is kvltlord? he's struck again? paranoid gits.

You're playing dumb, you aren't fooling anyone. And the irony of someone with 175 posts in 2 weeks, calling others bed room dwellers.

Right, I'm starting to write mine now.

How many of you are close to finishing? Or more relevantly, how many of you are still in this?

100% done with the music
40% done with the vocals
60% done with the mixing

i should honestly be completed by this weekend as long as nothing else happens this week.

The song I'm working on with Grimmig is almost done, songwriting-wise. Perhaps a couple of tweaks here and there. We'll probably get it recorded sometime soon. We would have finished a while ago, but I'm a total slacker.

I've finished my song too....but i'm gonna give it a few listens before I send it to you.
btw...when you're gonna upload the songs please don't use Rapidshare I can't download from this site...dropbox and mediafire are way better.

That's cool, just send it whenever you feel comfortable.

I was thinking dropbox would be the way to go on this one, seeing as some people might not be cool with downloading files to their comp. I can upload to rapidshare if anyone would like me to, so feel free to ask.

I suppose mediafire and dropbox are best, no waiting and decent speed. Rapidshare is cybertorture.

Also, may I suggest that you later on open a new thread for posting the tracks, reviews, final results, etc...
