I haven't heard his name mentioned yet Pentagram is the 2nd ever doom band and all I see in the other thread is mention of doom vocalists.

Not gonna happen. He's too unknown to replace such a band that was Heaven and Hell. H&H are too different a heavy metal band from Pentagram.

Are you over Dio's death this quickly? I'm pretty sure this isn't on Iommi's mind at the moment, and I'd be pretty surprised they'd get a new singer who doesn't have history with the band, if they were to continue at all.

Assuming Iommi and Geezer continue, I would venture to say Tony Martin would be the guy and if not him, my darkhorse pick would be Robert Lowe.

True yet he'd be of the same age. mindset and ego to deal with Tony. And as somewhat obscure as Pentagram maybe within the mainstream collective, most non metal heads that are Sabbath fans are not gonna care. Having said that I would be willing to bet that "Living In A Ram's Head" is in more people's collections than you'd think,

But again this goes with I am saying that the collective wants a doom vocals Did Sabbath create doom metal? Sabbath is the first metal band then by extension the first doom band - one could then say that doom is the original metal genre, therefore given that both Pentagram and "Lonesome Crow" follow this path early on , it stands to reason Bobby Liebling would at least be courted.

For a band to be considered one genre or the other, one has to adhere to a distinct group of characteristics encompassing composition (musically and lyrically, from a thematic standpoint) and presentation (be that album art, costumes/dress, stage presence). Sabbath may have written a few doom metal songs here and there, but they never were a doom metal band. Although I love Mr. Liebling's work, he does not have the temperament nor the range for Black Sabbath or any other band save his own (at this point and time).
