So I really like acoustic music, but sadly.. I don't have much.
Basically, just give me some acoustic, folk, or song-writer's music.
Simple as that. Here are some artists I enjoy..

Ulver's acoustic album is amazing. Anything close to that would be the best.

Nick Drake. Listening to Pink Moon right now, and I think I might be falling in love. I like the soothing vocals and beautiful guitar work.

Tattle Tale, an all female acoustic "riot grrl"? band. I'm not much for the vocals, but the acoustic song-writing is great.

Devendra Banhart, a folk mastermind. I love everything he has done, but Rejoicing In Our Hands is a wonderful album.

Neutral Milk Hotel is an indie band that is fucking great. Good example of what else I like.

The acid folk band Comus. If anybody is familiar with First Utterance, they will know why I like this.

EDIT - Neofolk is welcome too. I have two Death In June albums, they sound kinda... repetitive, but is'al'goo'.

Empyrium's Where at Night the Wood Grouse Plays is similar to Ulver's acoustic album. There is tons of songs on youtube that you can sample from that album such as this one. Uaral has some very beautiful acoustic guitar but also include on occasion guttural vocals and electric guitars.

van morrison's astral weeks will blow your mind. seriously you need it. its nothing like 'brown eyed girl' or the later stuff.

Couple of bands:

Váli - Norwegian one-man folk band that plays music quite similar to Ulver's first one. They've only released the one demo, Forlatt, but it is absolutely stunning and brilliant. Read Gutterscream's review for it, sums it up quite well. You really should get this, you will not be disappointed.

October Falls - Finnish band that has now started playing folk/black metal, but originally started out as an acoustic folk band. Music is again quite similar to Ulver, but should be to your liking. The first few releases, Marras, Sarastus and Tuoni are all in this style and are all very good.

SIG:AR:TYR - Canadian band that again has moved onto playing metal, but started out as an acoustic project. The demo, The Stranger, and the first full length, Sailing the Seas of Fate, should both interest you. Kind of a weird project actually, the main aspect of the music is rather simple acoustic guitar but with these virtuosic solos throughout.

You might also want to check out a guy from Tasmania called Cary Lewincamp if you can find his stuff. It's a little hard to get unless you actually buy it from his site, but you can listen to samples and whatnot on his site as well. Awesome acoustic music.

Also check out Tenhi. They're an amazing neo-folk band from Finland. All of their albums are absolutely stunning but if you're interested in more traditional acoustic folk-based music, then check out their first album Kauan. Amazing band and album.

In Gowan Ring, Faun Fables, Fausto, Johnny Flynn, Kazuki Tomokawa, Noah And The Whale, Old Jerusalem, Perry Leopold, Sangre Cavallum, Shuji Inaba, Solanaceae, Steve Von Till, Those Poor Bastards, Tom Waits... Also, not absolutely acoustic, but if you like Neutral Milk Hotel, you'll love The Rural Alberta Advantage.

Another band I forgot to mention: Munruthel. A very haunting [yet amazing] ambient folk band, same with Nest, anything else that is similar to these?

Bon Iver's "For Emma, Forever Ago" is highly, HIGHLY reccomended. Also, City and Colour.

EDIT: Iron and Wine's first album ("The Creek Drank the Cradle") is a nice, kinda lo-fi folk album.

Nope. Is he a must?

Some would say so. I only have his first album, which was recorded in a basement. His second album is supposedly "very dark".

I'd recommend checking out Drudkh's "Songs of Grief & Solitude", their acoustic/folk album.

I second everything Call_From_The_Tower said (a while back I posted with a similar request, and I think you were the one who suggested those to me. A belated thanks to you).

Empyrium's middle two albums should fit the mold as well, have yet to listen to the most recent so can't speak for it.

I recommend "Forseti". It's nice acoustic neofolk. There are plenty of their songs on youtube.

Btw: I always wondered if there was something like MA for neofolk and neomedieval music as well.

If you're looking for some good acoustic songs, search for "Forlorn in Silence" by Lord Belial. I'm not a fan, but it is really a great song. Lycanthropy's Spell also has some nice acoustic songs and acoustic parts in songs that are wonderful.
