does such a thing exist "black metal math rock mathcore" im thinking

one part enthroned + one part early don caballero + one part eternal lord with a dash of immortal

any ideas ??

Have you tried using the advanced search feature on the main archives site? There are 21 results for "technical black metal" under the genre tag. I haven't personally listened to any of them but you might find something you dig in there. Direwolf in particular looks completely over the top and wanky, but has 2 very positive reviews. Maybe that would be a good place to start?

direwolf fits pretty well into that category. Also, you could give mirrorthrone's Carriers of Dust a listen. Both are one man drum machine bands, and both are killer

Seriously, check them out. I love "Welterwerk" and I'm greatly anticipating their newest release.

Avantgarde Black metal band Solefald has an album called Neonism. Really outstanding work with some pieces of mathcore, I think.

Direwolf is certainly awesome... really not sure about the "mathcore" label though, since there's absolutely no core to it at all.

Shreddy guitars over ludicrously layered synths (orchestral and otherwise) with the occasional vocal parts, both clean and blackened. Odds are, even if you hate Behold... The Arctopus, you'll probably find something to like in Direwolf. The two are definitely very different projects.

Yeah I didn't mean to imply that Direwolf had any core leanings, only that it was most likely quite technical. I don't think there is going to be any actual overlap of bands that enjoy DEP-ish stuff (thats so called "mathcore", right?) and black metal who want to mix the two. Thankfully. :p

Mathcore is just Technical Metalcore, and yes tDEP is Mathcore, with some experimentation thrown in for the fuck of it (Technical and Experimental).

Edit: This is just a guess but I think what the TC is asking for is Technical Blackened Metalcore (Blackened Mathcore).

interesting bands so far right now Drottnar is at the top of the list as far as what i think i was looking for, just missing that dash of immortal

Not a problem! Glad you enjoy them. They're missing the "-core" too, but they definitely have those spazzy moments. :P

I prefer Gangrene. It's spread out more effectively. CoD feels bloated.

Would Slagmark be worth a shout? Their debut is quite impressive, and seemingly technical. Eradication.
