I recently happened upon the album "Constant" by these guys, and I'm hooked. Tholus play a very well-rounded and complex variety of technical/progressive death metal with sci-fi aesthetics and lyrics. Every aspect of "Constant" is nothing short of great, but the basswork stands out to me most. Their bassist pulls off some pretty impressive stuff, and his solos remind me of Rainer Landfermann and Sean Malone here and there.

I certainly recommend them, and I was shocked to see they haven't been mentioned much here on the forums.

To anyone who has listened to them, what are your thoughts?

EDIT: Err... I put "Sean Reinert" at first. :P

I just looked them up. They are a pretty new band and they have a label but from what I heard on the MySpace page is ok. Nothing ground breaking though. It falls on the progressive side of things. Do you know any of the guys in the band or something?

Thank you for recommending this band. They have one song about Robotech, anime series I really enjoyed in the 80's so I will definitely check them out. :)

No, I just discovered these guys a few days ago. No doubt it's nothing groundbreaking, but I feel they're very good at what they do. :)

Yes, they are very good at what they do. It helps that I always enjoy space themed music of any kind.
