But I am not sure, and I need your help to identify it. The cover is purple, not any of the colors mentioned here, and the copyright is 1991. It only has 29 tracks, which is not what the Archives say the firstpressing has. What the hell do I have, then? It has Relativity/Earache on it. Is it just a re-release?

CD right?

Sounds like a bootleg, but go to the "Ask Earache" section of the Earache site, Dig should give you an adequate response. :)

As far as I know the first CD edition was a single CD release featuring Scum together with the F.E.T.O. album and 4 bonus tracks (B-side of the 'Curse' EP).

But I could be mistaken in this case. It was the only CD version I saw in various shops back then in '89 or '90

If the copyright is '91, then I severely doubt it's a first pressing. The first couple of pressings were Vinyl only, and I believe that the first CD pressing was with FETO on the disc as well, I could be wrong though.

I'd recommend that Ask Digby thing though...

I sent an e-mail to Dig... I doubt it is a first pressing now as well. It's missing track #12 on the back listing.

If it's Earache/Relativity, it's probably just an American pressing.

EDIT: http://www.discogs.com/release/1099234 Is that what you have?

Yes, except it is distinctly purple.
I saw another copy on eBay that had the same track listing typo on the back... I don't know if it is bootleg or not.
Waiting for Dig's response...

The original album was released with several different color covers, with the yellowish one being the most prevalent. I think most reissues of it have done the same with the cover art. I have a 2002 reissue with a greenish cover.

Earache/Relativity (and later Earache/Combat) means US-pressings. No original UK-pressing.

As for old releases and re-releases on Earache-Europe:
* old first press releases (but also some few first re-presses from mid-90es!!) had a barcode starting with 5055...
* re-releases have a barcode starting with 50186...

But this doesn't help you distinguishing between different colours of covers...check www.cultmetal.com. Probably they have a description of the real first press vinyl.

It's obviously not a boot leg per se but I know for sure if it has the purple cover it is NOT an original pressing. I saw the American release and it is not that either because a buddy of mine looked it up. My guess is it's the Canadian one from 1991.
